Rabbits may seem harmless, but for farmers, gardeners, and landowners, they can quickly become a costly nuisance. From damaging young trees and shrubs to eating through crops and digging into lawns or fields, uncontrolled rabbit activity can cause long-term issues across agricultural and domestic settings.
Rabbit Wire Fencing provides a practical, humane, and long-lasting solution to this challenge. Designed specifically to prevent rabbits from burrowing or chewing their way into protected areas, this fencing range offers dependable protection for farms, gardens, and conservation land alike.
Manufactured from high-tensile galvanised steel wire, Rabbit Wire Fencing combines strength, flexibility, and weather resistance. The zinc coating provides exceptional protection against rust and corrosion, ensuring reliable performance in all outdoor conditions.
We offer a choice of pre-galvanised or hot-dip galvanised finishes, depending on your project requirements and exposure levels. Each roll features a graduated mesh design, smaller apertures near the base prevent rabbits from squeezing through, while the wider spacing at the top allows for ventilation and visibility.
This design makes rabbit fencing suitable for a wide range of applications, from field and garden boundaries to woodland perimeters and conservation projects. It’s equally effective for keeping rabbits out or safely keeping them in, depending on your needs.
Rabbit Wire Fencing is a versatile option across agricultural, environmental, and domestic settings, offering reliable protection in a variety of situations:
There are two effective ways to install rabbit wire fencing, depending on your site and terrain:
Fold Method: Fold approximately 150mm of netting outward at ground level. This creates a surface barrier that stops rabbits from digging at the base.
Buried Method: Dig a trench around 300mm deep and bury the fencing securely. This provides maximum protection against tunnelling and is ideal for areas with persistent rabbit activity.
For best results, the fencing should be installed with treated timber posts, steel stakes, or recycled plastic posts, spaced roughly every 2 to 3 metres. Use tensioning wire at the top and bottom for added stability and to maintain the fence’s structure over time.
Rabbit wire fencing offers a cost-effective, low-maintenance, and environmentally responsible way to control rabbit access and protect valuable land. It’s trusted by farmers, landowners, and homeowners alike for its effectiveness, longevity, and ease of installation.
As part of the First Fence agricultural fencing range, this product can be combined with other systems such as Badger Netting, Deer Fencing, or Stock Fencing to create a complete wildlife management and livestock containment solution.
