Farm gates, also known as agricultural gates, are essential for controlling access to fields and pastures where livestock may be held. Farm gates limit livestock movement, prevent livestock from mixing, and prevent them from entering fields containing crops.
Like many pieces of equipment on a farm or agricultural site, farm gates need to be hard-wearing. They must be able to withstand harsh all-weather environments, as well as being strong enough to prevent livestock from escaping.
Galvanised steel provides each of these metal farm gates with a high level of strength. The galvanised finish provides a protective coating, preventing the formation of rust. With just a small amount of routine maintenance, these farm gate kits will remain strong and stable for years to come.
To allow easy access for farmers, farmhands, ramblers, and other members of the public who may be passing through, these farm gates include a spring bolt latch. The spring latch system allows for the gate to be opened easily, whilst also making sure that the gate is instantly secured when closed. This is especially useful when moving equipment into a field or pasture, eliminating the worry that the gate has not been secured behind you.
Each farm gate leaf contains of a series of horizontal infill bars. There are smaller gaps between them at the bottom, preventing smaller livestock from being able to squeeze through. The gaps towards the top are larger, providing a high level of visibility. This allows farmers to keep an eye on their animals without needing to enter the field.
The metal farm gates are available in a wide range of widths, from 3 feet (0.91 meters) up to 16 feet (4.87 meters). These gates can accommodate anything from people and livestock to even the largest of farming equipment.
