Potted Bollards

Our Potted Bollards range is specifically designed to offer heavy-duty protection in environments where impact resistance is critical. These bollards are perfect for safeguarding buildings, machinery, and personnel in areas where material handling equipment and large vehicles are frequently used, such as warehouses, loading bays, and logistics centres. Their primary purpose is to reduce the risk of accidental damage caused by vehicle collisions while also providing reliable protection for floor anchors and surrounding infrastructure.

Unlike surface-mounted bollards, our Potted Bollards are installed below ground, making them a far more durable and stable solution for high-traffic areas. The ground-sunk design helps to absorb and distribute the force of impacts, preventing the damage that can occur when a vehicle strikes a bollard. This shock-absorbing feature helps protect not just the bollard itself but also the floor and surrounding structures, ensuring long-term durability and stability, even in the most demanding environments.

We offer a variety of sizes to meet different site requirements. Our ground sunk Bollards come in the following configurations:

0.96m High x 168mm Diameter Potted Bollard with Cover Kit
1.2m High x 168mm Diameter Potted Bollard with Cover Kit
1.2m High x 219mm Diameter Potted Bollard with Cover Kit
1.5m High x 168mm Diameter Potted Bollard with Cover Kit
1.5m High x 219mm Diameter Potted Bollard with Cover Kit

These bollards are manufactured from mild steel and are hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and wear. This ensures that they remain highly durable, even when exposed to harsh environments, chemicals, or weather conditions. The steel core of each bollard is designed to absorb the force of vehicle impacts, and the bollards can withstand the pressures of high-traffic and heavy-vehicle areas.

To improve visibility and adhere to safety standards, the bollards are available with colour-coded cover kits in three distinctive colour combinations:

Yellow & Black for general caution areas
Black & Yellow as an alternative marking for caution zones
Red & White for high-alert areas or restricted zones

These vibrant colour options enhance the bollard’s visibility, ensuring that drivers and pedestrians can easily identify the safety zones, especially in areas with low light or high traffic. The coloured covers also act as a visual deterrent, helping to prevent accidental collisions.

Installation of our hi-visibility bollards requires excavation to the appropriate depth to accommodate the “potted” section. Once the bollard is in place, it is recommended to use concrete to secure the bollard and create a clean, professional finish that is level with the surrounding floor. This method ensures maximum stability and ensures the bollard remains firmly in place, even under the pressure of frequent impacts.

Our Potted Bollards are built in accordance with the British Standards and Building Regulations to ensure they meet all necessary safety and construction requirements. For more details on specifications, installation instructions, and compliance, please refer to the product data sheets provided.
