Wide Outer Leaf Lintels from First Fence

Our Wide Outer Leaf Lintels are designed to be used with blockwork and stonework, and are made from pre-galvanised steel. This makes them durable, but also conforms with BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003 for reliability.

An outer leaf lintel supports the external (outer) layer of the cavity wall. They support the structure while transferring the load to prevent sagging and collapse around the area.

A Wide Outer Leaf Lintel is essential for window and door nooks during the construction process.

Applications

Our cavity wall lintels provide structural support for the masonry leaf, allowing for a safe and secure building. An Outer steel lintel works with an Inner cavity lintel to support the weight above openings like windows and doors.

The cavity itself keeps the property both comfortable to live in and also keep its longevity. It does this by:

• Preventing moisture
• Creates space for insulation

Choosing Your Lintel

First Fence offers three Wide Outer Leaf Lintels, so you can select the best one for the job.

Choose from:

• 90mm-105mm cavity
• 110mm-125mm cavity
• 150mm-165mm cavity

Each one is available in multiple sizes, from 750mm to 3600mm, to ensure the perfect fit.

Regulations and Compliance of Outer Leaf Lintels

We use pre-galvanised steel to make our lintels, ensuring they meet thermal and structural building regulations. This is inclusive of:

• England and Wales’ Part L of the building regulations
• Northern Ireland’s Part F
• Scotland’s Technical Handbook, section 6
