ProFence® Mesh High Security Fencing & Gates - SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 Certified

Q: What is SR1(A1) or LPS 1175 rated fencing?

SR1 or A1 rated fencing is a type of security fencing that has been tested and certified to meet the LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) standard. This standard is set by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) and is the highest level of certification for perimeter security systems. LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) certified fencing is designed to withstand sustained attacks using hand tools such as pliers, bolt cutters, and screwdrivers for up to 60 seconds. This gives on-site security teams ample time to respond and prevent a break-in. SR1 or A1 rated fencing is commonly used to protect high-value assets such as commercial and industrial properties, government buildings, and critical infrastructure. It is also used to secure areas where high levels of security are required, such as prisons and detention centres. Our ProFence® mesh fencing and gates have all been tested and are LPS 1175 A1 (SRI) certified. Find out more in our What is LPS 1175 and What makes ProFence® a SR1 Security Fencing System blog .

Q: How is SR1 (A1) mesh fencing different to standard mesh fencing?

There is a number of differences between standard fencing and SR1 rated fencing including certification, security strength and cost. SR1 (A1) mesh fencing is designed to provide a higher level of perimeter security than standard. It is certified to meet the LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) standard, which means it can withstand sustained attacks using hand tools for up to 60 seconds. Standard mesh fencing , on the other hand, does not have a security rating. It is typically made from lighter gauge steel and has a larger mesh size than SR1 (A1) mesh fencing, making it less resistant to cutting and climbing.
