AcoustiGuard® SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 Timber Acoustic Gates

High-security gates with built-in noise control.

The AcoustiGuard® SR1 (A1) Timber Acoustic Gates provide a dual-purpose solution for perimeter security and noise reduction. Independently tested and certified, they combine intrusion resistance with acoustic insulation, making them ideal for sites that need reliable protection and a quieter environment.

Available in 2.4m and 3.0m heights, with widths from 2.0m (personnel access) up to 6.0m (HGVs and large vehicles), these gates offer flexibility for almost any site. Choose between single leaf or double leaf models, depending on your access requirements. Every gate is delivered fully assembled and crane-ready, cutting down on installation time and cost.

Our AcoustiGuard® SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 Timber Acoustic Gates are designed with both performance and safety in mind and are fully compliant with the BS EN 12604 standard. This standard requires that gates remain secure and supported even in the event of a single hinge failure. To achieve this, each gate is built with a reinforced three-hinge system, providing essential redundancy to prevent collapse. This ensures the gate leaf stays safely in place at all times, reducing the risk of injury or damage while maintaining the high security and acoustic performance the AcoustiGuard® system is known for.

Certified Security You Can Trust: LPS 1175 SR1 (A1)

In modern security planning, a gate must be more than a physical barrier; it must be independently proven to resist attack. Every AcoustiGuard® gate is certified by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) to LPS 1175 SR1 (A1), one of the most respected standards for forced entry resistance.

This rating confirms that the gate can withstand a sustained one-minute attack using tools from Toolkit A, a set of easily concealed hand tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, knives, and spanners. Though brief, this one-minute delay is strategically vital:

  • Buys valuable time for security teams to respond.
  • Ensure CCTV and alarm systems can be triggered.
  • Creates noise and effort, often causing intruders to abandon their attempt.

Beyond physical protection, an LPS 1175-certified product demonstrates due diligence in risk management. Many insurers, government agencies, and corporate bodies view LPCB certification as a prerequisite, transforming your gate into a recognised, trusted component of layered security.

Acoustic Performance to BS EN 1794

AcoustiGuard® gates are designed to meet BS EN 1794 standards for acoustic barriers, giving you proven noise reduction alongside security.

BS EN 1794-1 (Acoustic Performance)

Built with a high-density timber façade using pressure-treated Tanalised UC4 timber, these gates absorb and block sound from traffic, rail, or machinery. This helps sites meet environmental regulations and create a quieter, more productive space.

BS EN 1794-2 (Non-Acoustic Performance)

The galvanised steel framework is engineered for safety and durability. Post sizes are matched to each gate’s dimensions, ensuring strength against wind loads, impacts, and regular use.

Built for Performance and Longevity

The superior reliability of AcoustiGuard® timber gates comes from their hybrid steel-and-timber construction, engineered to the highest standards:

Structural Frame: Manufactured from heavy-gauge RSJ steel, each frame undergoes hot-dip galvanisation to ISO 1461. This process immerses the steel in molten zinc, forming a tough, metallurgical bond for maximum corrosion resistance, even in harsh coastal or industrial environments.

Timber Acoustic Core: The façade is made from Tanalised UC4 timber, pressure-treated for permanent ground contact and superior protection against rot, fungi, and insect attack. This ensures the acoustic panels remain stable and effective throughout their service life.

Substantial Support Posts: Depending on the gate width, posts are engineered to exacting specifications, from 120x120x4mm on smaller models to 150x150x5mm for the wider 5.0m and 6.0m versions. This guarantees structural integrity, smooth operation, and long-term safety across the full range.

Together, these premium materials and robust engineering practices make the AcoustiGuard® SR1 Gate Kits a durable, low-maintenance investment designed to deliver reliable protection and acoustic performance for years to come.
