First Fence is pleased to announce the newest product line; Timber Acoustic Fencing.
Noise, is basically unwanted sound. It has the potential to be bothersome, disrupt communication, impact leisure or relaxation activities, and in severe cases, lead to hearing loss or even manifest mental health and physiological symptoms. Timber structures and barriers serve as highly effective sound absorbers and reflectors, playing a crucial role in diminishing noise levels across various applications. This type of barrier or screen blends well with many types of exterior designs, giving a very pleasing, warm and inviting look.
The 1.8m EchoGroove Reflective Acoustic Fencing Kit from First Fence works by reflecting noise off its profile. The kit comes in loose form and can be assembled on-site. The acoustic screen kit has a carefully designed profile, which is gapless when correctly installed, which prevents sound travelling through.
These Timber Acoustic Fencing Kits are a simple solution that can help homeowners, house builders and local authorities to manage traffic noise issues. Perfect if you live in a busy area, or run a business where you don’t want excess or unnecessary noise.
The system has been independently tested by Salford University to Highways England requirements - BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices. Tested and compliant to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, they also comply with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Manufactured from Tanalised (UC4) pressure treated timber from an FSC certified supplier. This type of wood has a natural pale green colour that blends well with wherever it is situated. This timber is surface incised at the manufacturer's site and this is an important factor in achieving the very best preservative protection for ground contact timber.
Within the loose, kit form, you will get Tongue & Groove Acoustic Boards, Timber Gravel Board, Capping Rail, Counter Rail, Cover Strip, Centre Strip. You will need to select either a timber post kit or a steel post (the steel post comes with a nailing plate), your choice of nails (64mm stainless steel) or self-tapping screws, and then add Post Mix to your order. This is a dig in only format.
Installation is relatively simple, once the posts are in place fit the horizontal acoustic tongue & groove boards to the posts and build to the required height by interlocking together. Post centres are 2.4m.
These panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation is cut down where the acoustic fencing is to be installed. Do not install where they may sit in water.
The timber acoustic barriers have a 30 years desired service life offered by the manufacturer and are designed to be maintenance free, subject to correct installation. Check with a structural engineer for wind loading for your specific location.
Our EchoGroove Panels are also available in 2.0m high and 2.4m high.
These panels not only look great but provide the very best solution to tackle excessive and unwanted noise across many applications, ranging from residential, education, transport, commercial and industrial. This acoustic fencing works by creating an adequate barrier to disturb and repel any unwanted sound. This can have an extreme effect noticeably reducing noise levels and minimising any previous disruption. Aside from noise management, acoustic fence panels offer greater levels of privacy and are more aesthetically pleasing than industrial-styled security fencing.
First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoAbsorb, why not take a look today? Also available is a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
