First Fence is thrilled to present our newest product line: Timber Acoustic Fencing.

Noise, characterised as unwanted sound, has the potential to be a nuisance, disrupting work and leisure activities, and even contribute to hearing loss or mental health issues. Timber structures and barriers are exceptionally effective in both absorbing and reflecting sound, playing a crucial role in diminishing noise levels in a wide range of applications. These barriers seamlessly integrate with exterior designs, providing a welcoming and warm aesthetic.

Introducing our 2.4m EchoGroove Reflective Acoustic Fencing Kit, designed to reflect noise off its profile. Available in loose form, the kit is easily assembled on-site (also available as a pre-assembled format), featuring a meticulously designed, gapless profile to prevent sound transmission.

Features and Benefits

These Timber Acoustic Fencing Screens offer a straightforward solution for homeowners, house builders, and local authorities dealing with traffic noise, ideal for busy areas or businesses where noise reduction is paramount.

Independently tested by Salford University to meet Highways England requirements (BS EN 1793), the screens comply with BS EN 1794-1, BS EN 1794-2, and Highways Sector Scheme 2C for environmental barriers.

Crafted from Tanalised (UC4) pressure-treated timber from an FSC certified supplier, the natural pale green colour harmonises with any setting. Surface incision of this timber at the manufacturer's site is a vital aspect in ensuring optimal preservative protection, particularly for timber in ground contact.

Installation is straightforward, with tongue & groove boards acoustic boards securely interlocking into place. You will just need to select a post type, timber or steel. Please note, this is a dig in only format. This is fixed to the post with 64mm stainless steel nails or self-tapping screws depending on post choice.

Installation is relatively simple, once the posts are in place fit the horizontal acoustic tongue & groove boards to the posts and build to the required height by interlocking together. Post centres are 2.4m.

These panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation is cut down where the acoustic fencing is to be installed. Do not install where they may sit in water.

The timber acoustic barriers have a manufacturer promoted 30 year desired service life and are designed to be maintenance free, subject to correct installation. Check with a structural engineer for wind loading for your specific location.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these panels offer an effective solution to combat unwanted noise in various applications, such as residential, education, transport, commercial, and industrial settings. The acoustic fencing acts as a barrier, significantly reducing noise levels and providing greater privacy compared to industrial security fencing.

Our EchoGroove Panels are also available in 1.8m high and 2.0m high.

First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoAbsorb, why not take a look today? Also available is a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
