Locinox LAKQ Surface-Mounted Gate Lock Installation Tutorial
Learn how to fit, configure, and adjust the Locinox surface-mounted gate lock (LAKQ U2) with aluminium handles and a euro cylinder. Suitable for swing gates with 40 mm to 60 mm profiles, this step-by-step guide demonstrates complete mechanical mounting and keep alignment.
Mark & Drill Gate Profile: Prepare 4 fixing holes in the gate frame using the Locinox drilling jig (3970LA).
Set Daybolt Direction: Turn the self-latching daybolt for left-hand or right-hand gate swing.
Mount Lock Body: Fasten the lock body to the gate profile using two hexagon socket head screws.
Attach Handles & Cylinder: Install the pair of aluminium handles using the Locitool LA and insert the euro cylinder.
Fit Protective Caps: Push protective plastic caps over internal fixing points.
Install Adjustable Keep: Drill two 15 mm holes on the post, set profile width (40–60 mm), and secure the keep using Quick-Fix.
Adjust Day & Night Bolts: Fine-tune day and night bolt extension with an Allen key to ensure smooth latching.
