First Fence is excited to introduce our latest product line - Timber Acoustic Fencing. This range offers three distinct styles: EchoGroove, EchoReflect, and EchoAbsorb, each crafted to address and mitigate excess and undesirable noise.
Unwanted noise, often known as sound intrusion, has the potential to disturb communication, recreational activities, and, in more severe cases, could lead to hearing impairment or mental health difficulties. Wooden constructions and barriers demonstrate significant efficacy in both absorbing and reflecting sound, serving as a crucial element in reducing noise levels across diverse applications.
The EchoAbsorb Absorbent Acoustic Fencing Kit, measuring 2.0 metres, is available either in loose kit form for convenient on-site assembly or as pre-assembled panels. These kits are highly sought-after for acoustic fencing screening and are suitable for a wide range of applications, including residential, commercial, industrial, schools, and healthcare facilities.
The timber acoustic fencing panels function by absorbing and dampening unwanted sounds, making them perfect for maintaining sound within a specific area. These panels feature a two-part design that both absorbs and dampens excessive noise. One side of the panel is constructed with vertically sawn boards and cover strips, offering a sound-reflective surface, while the other side incorporates a protective membrane and rockwool for absorption.
The acoustic fencing panels can be installed using either a steel or timber post depending on your preference. Both are available from First Fence. The Steel Post comes with wooden wedges for installation. This is a dig in only format.
The EchoAbsorb Acoustic Fencing Kit provides an uncomplicated remedy for local authorities managing traffic noise, house builders seeking to reduce noise from construction projects, and homeowners yearning for tranquillity.
All timber acoustic fencing within this range has undergone independent testing conducted by Salford University, meeting the criteria established by Highways England (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). Moreover, it adheres to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, aligning with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Crafted from UC4 Tanalised, pressure-treated timber sourced from an FSC-certified supplier, this wood boasts a natural, soft pale green hue that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings. The timber undergoes surface incision at the manufacturer's site, a critical process to guarantee top-tier preservative protection, especially for timber in ground contact.
The loose kit comprises EchoAbsorb Straight Boards, Gravel Board, Capping and Counter Rails, Horizontal Rails, and Cover Strips, forming a single bay of 2.0 metres in height and 2.4 metres in width for timber acoustic fencing.
The timber acoustic barriers come with a manufacturer-provided 30-year expected service life and are engineered to be maintenance-free when installed correctly. These panels are suitable for painting with a breathable stain or paint. It is advisable to clear vegetation from the installation area of the acoustic fencing and to avoid installing them where they might be submerged in water.
The timber acoustic barriers have a 30 years desired service life offered by the manufacturer and are designed to be maintenance free, subject to correct installation. Check with a structural engineer for wind loading for your specific location.
These panels not only enhance aesthetics but also provide an effective solution for addressing excessive and unwanted noise in various applications, including residential, education, transport, commercial, and industrial sectors. In addition to noise management, acoustic fence panels offer increased privacy and a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to industrial-styled security fencing.
Our EchoAbsorb Panels are also available in 1.8m high and 2.4m high.
First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoGroove, why not take a look today? Also available is a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
