10.0ft Wide 7-Rail Farm Gate Kit
For control of livestock, agricultural vehicles and equipment and security in general, a good quality, galvanised metal farm gate is invaluable to a rural business. This kind of farm gate is a real workhorse and needs to be extremely robust. A galvanised steel product is superior to a similar timber format, it will be able to withstand being knocked and bashed by vehicles and large animals and survive the temperature and weather changes that face a permanently outdoor-sited gate.
The 10.0ft Wide 7-Rail Farm Gate Kit from First Fence comprises everything you need to install your new field gateway; a Gate Leaf, Hanging Post, Slotted Post, Spring Bolt Kit and Adjustable Gate Eyes. The gate leaf measures 1145mm high and 3050mm (10ft) wide. A galvanised steel gate leaf is heavy so requires sturdy gate posts to support it successfully, the kit comes with a Hanging Post and a Slotted Post. Each of these is 114.3mm (4.5") overall diameter and have an actual length of 2000mm which allows for it to be concreted into the ground. All components with the kit are available to be purchased separately.
This metal gate kit also comes with a Spring Bolt Kit to keep the gate securely closed. The Kit is made up of a Slider Latch Bar, a compression spring, M20 Flat Washer and a tension pin. These parts fit easily together and do not require bolting to the gate. Also included are two adjustable gate eyes which enable the gate to be sited onto a slope or uneven ground (ground clearance may vary depending on the ground conditions).
This gate format is a dig in type and suited to a softer ground substance of rural settings. Post Mix will be needed to fix the posts very securely into the ground. Correct installation and routine maintenance will ensure the gate gives you many years of service.
