Y-Shaped Mesh Post Extension With X Sleeve

Adding barbed or razor wire to the top line of a mesh fencing system is a simple way to raise the security level of your premises. The security wire acts as a deterrent as it makes a fence difficult to scale and can cause injury to an intruder.

To add this wire to the top of a fence, a bracket or extension needs to be put in place so the wire has something to be attached to. The Y-shaped Mesh Post Extension with X Sleeve from First Fence is easily added to a mesh post and once secured in place, it is easy to fix your wire to it. They are a useful addition to a new fencing plan, but also they can be retrofitted to an existing fencing structure.

The Mesh Post Extensions come in three formats; a straight, cranked and Y-shaped design.

The Y-shaped Mesh Post Extension has two arms that form the distinctive Y-shape. Each arm of the Y-shape is 200mm, the upright section is 100mm, and the X sleeve insert is 100mm. The Post Extension's narrower X sleeve insert slides into the open box section of the post, and is fixed to it with a bolt. There is a 12mm clearance hole for the fixings. Three drilled holes are on each side of the arms and this is for the tensioning wires to attach to the extension post.

This product has been constructed from pre-galvanised steel which is strong and durable and perfect for continual outdoor use. It is available as a standard pre-galvanised and a green powder coated version. The polyester powder coating gives a sleek and colourful look, yet it also adds a protective layer to the post extension to help resist rust and damage from general wear and tear, and this will help prolong its life span.

The Post Extension requires M8 or M10 bolts to attach it to the mesh post, these are not included with the product.

Ribbed Inserts (60 x 60mm) will be needed for the open ends of the post extension to prevent water from collecting inside.
