The Apollo 1.2m High x 5.0m Wide 868 Twin Mesh Double Leaf Gate Kit offers a robust and highly secure entry solution, designed for sites requiring both strong perimeter protection and reliable access control. Whether you are managing a school, playground, industrial estate, or sports facility, this gate provides an ideal balance between safety, visibility, and durability.
Constructed from 868 twin wire mesh, this gate features 6mm vertical wires welded across 8mm horizontal wires, forming a rigid and closely spaced mesh pattern. This design not only enhances the structural integrity of the gate but also acts as a visual deterrent to trespassers. The tight mesh spacing makes it incredibly difficult to climb or cut through using standard tools, while still allowing for excellent visibility through the gate. It's perfect for locations where activity monitoring is essential.
With a 5.0m access width, this double leaf gate provides ample space for vehicle entry, including small vans, maintenance vehicles, and forklifts. The two leaves can be operated independently or together, allowing for flexible access control depending on the needs of the site. Each gate leaf is universal, which means it can be hung as either left or right-handed, offering greater installation flexibility.
As with all Apollo gates, this model features a modular design, allowing it to be paired with a range of locking mechanisms, including a standard sliding latch compatible with a padlock, as well as digital security locks or quick-exit push pads for more advanced security requirements. The corners of the gate are mitred for added strength, giving the structure a neat, professional finish while also increasing resistance to wear over time.
The gate is supported by either bolt-down posts for hard surfaces or dig-in posts for softer ground, both options made from pre-galvanised steel to BS EN 10346 and powder-coated to BS 13438. A wide selection of RAL colours is available to help match the gate to surrounding fencing or your organisation's branding. Powder coating not only enhances visual appeal but also adds an extra layer of corrosion resistance, helping the gate maintain its appearance for years to come.
This gate conforms to BS 12604 safety standards when used with an optional Safety Tether, which can be added during installation. The gate is supplied with pre-drilled holes for the tether, ensuring compliance with DHF (Door and Hardware Federation) guidance to keep the gate within 300mm of its axis should the top hinge fail.
The kit includes everything required for installation, except post mix and ground anchor bolts, which can be purchased separately. We also stock a full range of compatible mesh fencing accessories, including clips and bolts, so you can maintain a seamless and secure perimeter.
