Chain link fencing is a very popular option for homeowners and businesses, as it is both durable and affordable. It’s commonly employed for marking boundaries, enhancing security, enclosing sports areas, and containing animals—offering a robust yet unobtrusive alternative to more prominent fencing options.
It is made from galvanised steel or PVC-coated wire and offers excellent weather resistance thus ensuring long-lasting performance.
This type of mesh fencing is easy to maintain and repair, once properly installed there is little required to ensure it stays in good working order.
An important element in chain link fencing systems, corner strainer posts are designed for areas where a fence line changes direction. These corner posts are engineered to withstand the tension exerted on the fence at turning points, ensuring structural integrity and overall stability.
Made from hot-dip galvanised steel (to ISO 1461) and also available powder coated (to BS EN 13438) in green or black, this post has significant resistance to rust and weathering, making it ideal for outdoor applications. It is 2100mm in total length and is for the 1.5m system, this is a dig-in format and requires post mix.
It is made from 50 x 50mm rolled steel angle and is heavier duty than the intermediate post as it must withstand additional strain from the change in direction. When set deep into the ground and secured with post mix, the post can fully handle the tension applied at the corner. This post comes with 40 x 40mm RSA struts to suit the 1.5m high system.
Corner strainer posts are vital to the stability and structure of chain link fencing, especially where the fence changes direction (at corners). Their primary function is to secure and support the fencing system at these crucial points where tension forces are increased due to the change in direction.
Manage Tension at Turns - When a chain link fence changes direction, the wire and mesh create increased tension. Corner strainer posts help absorb and evenly distribute this force, preventing sagging or loosening. They also support the tension wires, keeping the mesh firm and secure.
Reinforce Structural Stability - Serving as key support points where the fence line shifts, these posts are embedded deeper into the ground and often reinforced with diagonal bracing. This added strength ensures the fence remains sturdy and well-supported.
Maintain Proper Alignment - Corner posts help keep the fence straight and secure at turning points, preventing shifting or misalignment. This is particularly important for long fence lines and areas exposed to wind or environmental stressors.
