PlaySecure® Machine Access Railing Gate Kit 1.0m x 2.9m Wide Double Dig-In
Even in the safest, well-managed play areas, emergencies can happen, so access for emergency service vehicles is essential. An ambulance requires a minimum opening of 2.15m, and the PlaySecure® Machine Access Gate Kit exceeds this requirement, providing 2.9m of clear access for rapid entry.
Part of First Fence’s RoSPA-compliant PlaySecure® range, this gate is designed to prevent accidents and maintain child safety in playgrounds, parks, and other recreational areas.
This is a dig-in only system, requiring three bags of Post Mix per post to ensure a stable, secure installation.

Wide Double-Leaf Design
The gate features a double-leaf configuration:

Universal Swing Direction
The swing orientation is determined by the retrofitted slam plate, and outward-opening is recommended to prevent unleashed dogs from entering play areas, unless site-specific hazards require an alternative setup.
Anti-Entrapment Safety
Child safety is built into the design:
- 40mm clearance between the gate leaf and post (exceeding the 12mm RoSPA minimum)
- 13mm self-adhesive 3M tapered rubber pads to dampen noise and protect small hands
Pads should be installed above 700mm from the ground for optimal safety.
Adjustable Self-Closing Mechanism
Each gate comes with an integrated self-closing system that ensures the gate closes and latches automatically.
The closing speed is adjustable to comply with RoSPA guidance, taking at least five seconds to close, reducing the risk of the gate striking children.
Safety Tethers
The safety tether prevents the gate leaf from falling in the unlikely event of a hinge failure, ensuring compliance with BS EN 12604 and protecting children from serious injury.
Smooth Edges & Durable Finish
The gate has smooth edges and a bright polyester powder coating, providing:
