The EnviroRail® Play Sec Railings stand as a popular product line from First Fence, serving as the perfect solution for creating secure and safe play areas for young children. A new addition to the EnviroRail® range is the Play Sec Railing Double Leaf Gate Kit, specifically designed to complement railings of the same style. Offered in different heights and widths, with choices for single or double leaves, these gate kits offer a secure and appropriate entry and exit solution for play areas. Prioritising child safety as paramount, these products are meticulously crafted with an additional emphasis on elevating the overall aesthetics of the space.

The EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Double Leaf Gate Kit, with dimensions of 1.8m in height and 3.0m in width, provides adjustable access control and site safety. This is one of the higher specification gates in the range, and stands out in delivering enhanced entry control, allowing the operation of one or both leaves. It is recommended to add a locking drop bolt with the double leaf format, and First Fence provides this as an optional purchase.

The EnviroRail® Double Leaf Gates provide a completely modular and comparatively lightweight gate solution, ensuring straightforward installation for diverse hardware needs. Featuring universal handing, these gates offer on-site flexibility, eliminating the need for fixed left or right-hand specifications. The modular functionality allows for adjustments in case of gate shifting, providing a level of flexibility that fixed hardware cannot provide.

Crafted through an eco-friendly manufacturing process, the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate Kit sets itself apart from conventional railings, making it the top choice for customers prioritising minimal environmental impact during production. This innovative method employs customised, laser-cut components fused together to create sturdy connections, significantly reducing the reliance on energy-intensive welding.

Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.

Each EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate Kit is meticulously fashioned from pre-galvanised steel that meets the rigorous standards of BS 10346. To enhance durability and withstand challenging outdoor conditions, it is coated with polyester powder. This dual-layered protection ensures years of dependable functionality while preserving its visual appeal.

The double leaf gate kit comprises two hinge posts, two Play Sec Railing leaves, and six adjustable gate eyes. With three hinges per leaf, the gate adheres to BS 12604 standards, ensuring safety even in the rare event of hinge failure. The gate hooks are seamlessly welded to the gate post, establishing a fixed-axis hinge that eliminates vertical movement. The UniSlide Slider Double Kit comes included with all EnviroRail double gates, ensuring a secure and smooth sliding mechanism for reliable operation.

Pre-drilled holes streamline the attachment of gate eyes and a drop bolt, complemented by plastic plugs that cover unused holes on the gate attack face. This not only provides a polished appearance but also prevents water accumulation. Designed to accommodate security locks, the gate allows for up to 30mm of adjustment from the catch post, facilitating a straightforward installation process.

Safety Compliance

The rails set at 100mm centres prevent entrapment, and the top bows of 90mm prevent wrist or neck trapping. The design and manufacture of the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate fully comply with BS EN 1176 regulations.

The gate provides a 50mm ground clearance when correctly installed, with the single leaf gate opening 90° in and out.

Available in various heights and widths, these gates come in a dig-in or bolt-down version, suitable for diverse environments. The dig-in variant requires the addition of Post Mix to the order, while the bolt-down version requires four M16 x 125mm ground anchor bolts per post.
