When choosing products for play areas, several factors must be considered. The product's height should prevent easy climbing or slipping through by children. Close spacing of any vertical railings is necessary to avoid a child's head from getting stuck, while maintaining good visibility. Smooth surfaces are important to prevent cuts or scrapes, and the product should be free of sharp edges or protruding items that could cause injury. Additionally, durability, weather resistance, and low-maintenance features are essential for outdoor conditions, with adherence to safety standards as a top priority.

Features and Advantages

The EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate is crafted using an innovative, environmentally conscious technique, reducing eco-impact during production. Utilising laser-cut elements which when pressed together form robust bonds, much reducing the need for energy-intensive welding. The resulting pressed bonds are as sturdy as welded counterparts.

Constructed from pre-galvanised steel meeting BS 10346 standards and coated with polyester powder, each EnviroRail® Play Sec Gate Kit ensures durability and resilience against harsh outdoor weather. This double-layer protection guarantees reliable functionality and preserves aesthetic appeal for years.

Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.

EnviroRail® Gates are celebrated for their versatility and hassle-free installation. Their modular, lightweight design and adaptable handedness provide exceptional flexibility on-site, eliminating constraints associated with fixed left or right-hand leaf orientations. The modular functionality gives adjustability in case the gates move, which fixed hardware doesn't give.

The single leaf gate kit includes a hinge and catch post, a Play Sec Railing leaf, and three adjustable gate eyes. Three hinges ensure BS 12604 compliance, guaranteeing safety even in the unlikely event of one hinge failing. Fully welded gate hooks provide an added layer of security, these are fixed axis hinges with no up or down movement.

Pre-drilled holes make it easy to attach gate eyes and a drop bolt, with plastic plugs included to cover unused holes on the gate attack face. Compatible with security locks, the gate allows up to 30mm of adjustment from the catch post, ensuring easy installation. The gate offers 50mm ground clearance when correctly installed, opening 90° in and out as a single leaf gate. The UniSlide Slider Single Gate Kit comes included with all EnviroRail single gates, ensuring a secure and smooth sliding mechanism for reliable operation.

Safety Compliance

Rails set at 100mm centres prevent entrapment, and top bows at 90mm prevent wrist or neck traps. The EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate design and manufacture comply with BS EN 1176 regulations.

Available in various heights and widths, these gates come in dig-in or bolt-down versions, suitable for diverse environments. For the dig-in variant, Post Mix needs to be added to the order, and the bolt-down version requires four M16 x 125mm ground anchor bolts per post.
