The Apollo® 1.8m x 1.5m 868 Twin Mesh Single Leaf Gate Kit offers a robust and secure pedestrian access point designed to safeguard commercial, industrial, and public areas such as parks and school grounds. With its taller profile and reinforced mesh infill, this gate is a practical solution for locations requiring increased perimeter security without compromising visibility.

- 868 Twin Wire Mesh Infill: Constructed using two 8mm horizontal steel wires paired with a 6mm vertical wire, the 868 mesh (commonly known as twin mesh) provides a strong and durable barrier against forced entry by opportunistic thieves or vandals. The closely spaced wires reduce potential climbing points, making it more difficult for intruders to scale the gate.
- Heightened Security (1.8m): Ideal for high-risk environments, the added height provides a greater physical deterrent and helps meet more stringent security requirements.
- Powder-Coated Steel Frame: Each gate is built from pre-galvanised steel and coated with a hard-wearing polyester powder finish. This coating is available in a selection of RAL colours and provides additional protection against rust, corrosion, and wear caused by harsh weather conditions.

Modular Design
The Apollo® 868 Gate is built with flexibility in mind. The universally handed gate leaf allows the gate to be installed to swing either left or right, with no need to choose the orientation at the time of purchase.
Locking Drop Bolt for Extra Control and Safety
Included with every Apollo® 1.8m x 1.5m Gate Kit is a locking drop bolt, designed to increase both safety and security on site. This versatile component serves two essential purposes:
- Hold Gate Open Securely: Ideal for periods of high foot traffic or for maintaining access during operational hours.
- Reinforce Gate When Closed: When not in use, the drop bolt can be locked into the ground to prevent the gate from swinging open, providing an added layer of security against unauthorised access or accidental movement in windy conditions.
Ground Type Compatibility
The Apollo® 1.8m x 1.5m Gate kits are available with either dig-in or bolt-down posts, providing a:
- Bolt-Down Posts: Designed for installation on solid surfaces like concrete. Requires 4 x M16 x 125mm Ground Anchor Bolts per post (sold separately).
- Dig-In Posts: Suitable for soil, turf, or softer ground types. Post Mix is required for secure installation (Please see the recommended quantities when placing your order).
Add a Gate Restrainer for Additional Safety
To meet BS 12604 standards, an optional Gate Restrainer is available. This tether helps prevent the gate leaf from moving beyond 300mm of its vertical axis should the top hinge fail, reducing the risk of injury. The gate leaf and posts are pre-drilled to accept this tether for fast, no-fuss installation in line with DHF (Door and Hardware Federation) recommendations.
