Noise fundamentally denotes unwanted sound that disrupts communication and leisure activities and, in severe cases, may lead to hearing loss or provoke mental and physical reactions. Timber structures and barriers effectively absorb and redirect sound waves, thereby markedly decreasing noise levels in various environments. These barriers effortlessly blend with a range of exterior designs, augmenting aesthetics with their charming and inviting presence.
The 3.0m EchoGroove Reflective Acoustic Fencing Kit offered by First Fence functions by deflecting noise from its profile. Available in loose components, the kit can be conveniently assembled at the site. Its acoustic screen features a meticulously engineered profile that, when installed correctly, eliminates gaps, effectively blocking sound transmission.
Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun.
This product is manufactured from Sawn Spruce and may cause splinters.
The Timber Acoustic Fencing Kits provide a simple solution for homeowners, property developers, and municipal authorities dealing with traffic noise challenges. Perfect for residents in busy areas or businesses aiming to reduce unwelcome noise disturbances.
The system has been independently tested by Salford University to Highways England requirements - (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). Tested and compliant to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, they also comply with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Made from Tanalised (UC4) pressure-treated timber sourced from an FSC-certified supplier, this material showcases a naturally pale green colour that harmonises effortlessly with its environment. The timber undergoes surface incising at the manufacturing site, a critical process guaranteeing the best possible preservation for timber used in ground contact applications.
Within the loose, kit form, you will get Tongue & Groove Acoustic Boards, Timber Gravel Board, Capping Rail, Counter Rail, Cover Strip, Centre Strip. You will need to select either a timber post kit or a steel post. This is a dig-in only format.
Once the posts are set up, the installation process is fairly straightforward. Attach the horizontal acoustic tongue and groove boards to the posts and assemble them by interlocking to achieve the desired height. The spacing between posts is 2.4 metres.
These panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation be cut down where the acoustic fencing is to be installed. Do not install them where they may sit in water.
The manufacturer guarantees a desired service life of 30 years for the timber acoustic barriers, provided they are correctly installed and maintained. Consult a structural engineer to assess wind loading requirements specific to your location.
Our EchoGroove Panels are also available in heights ranging from 1.8 to 5.0m.
These panels not only look great but provide the very best solution to tackle excessive and unwanted noise across many applications, ranging from residential, education, transport, commercial and industrial. This acoustic fencing works by creating an adequate barrier to disturb and repel any unwanted sound. This can have an extreme effect noticeably reducing noise levels and minimising any previous disruption. Aside from noise management, acoustic fence panels offer greater levels of privacy and are more aesthetically pleasing than industrial-styled security fencing.
