Noise fundamentally denotes unwanted sound that disrupts communication, leisure pursuits and, in severe cases, may lead to hearing issues or mental and physical distress. Timber construction and barriers effectively absorb and deflect sound, notably diminishing noise across different environments. These barriers harmoniously blend with diverse exterior designs, elevating aesthetics with their attractive and inviting presence.
The EchoGroove Reflective Acoustic Fencing Kit, standing at 2.7 metres, operates by deflecting noise through its profile design. Delivered in loose components, the kit offers on-site assembly convenience. Its meticulously crafted profile ensures a seamless fit when installed correctly, effectively halting the transmission of sound.
Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun.
This product is manufactured from Sawn Spruce and may cause splinters.
The Timber Acoustic Fencing Kits provide a simple solution for homeowners, developers, and local authorities dealing with traffic noise challenges. Perfect for residents in busy areas or businesses aiming to reduce unwanted noise disturbances.
The system has been independently tested by Salford University to Highways England requirements (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). Tested and compliant with BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, they also comply with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Made from Tanalised (UC4) pressure-treated timber obtained from an FSC-certified supplier, this material features a naturally pale green tint that effortlessly blends with its environment. The timber undergoes surface incising at the manufacturing facility, a vital process that ensures top-notch preservation for timber used in ground-contact scenarios.
Within the loose, kit form, you will get Tongue & Groove Acoustic Boards, Timber Gravel Board, Capping Rail, Counter Rail, Cover Strip, Centre Strip. You will need to select either a timber post kit or a steel post. This is a dig-in only format.
Installation is relatively simple; once the posts are in place, fit the horizontal acoustic tongue and groove boards to the posts and build to the required height by interlocking them together. Post centres are 2.4m.
These panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation be cut down where the acoustic fencing is to be installed. Do not install them where they may sit in water.
The manufacturer ensures a 30-year expected lifespan for the timber acoustic barriers, contingent upon proper installation and upkeep. It's advisable to seek guidance from a structural engineer to evaluate wind loading specifications tailored to your site.
Our EchoGroove Panels are also available in heights ranging from 1.8 to 5.0m.
These panels not only offer aesthetic appeal but also serve as the optimal solution for addressing excessive and unwelcome noise in various settings, including residential, educational, transportation, commercial, and industrial environments. Operating as an effective barrier, this acoustic fencing deters and deflects unwanted sounds, significantly reducing noise levels and mitigating prior disturbances. In addition to noise control, acoustic fence panels provide enhanced privacy and a more visually appealing alternative to industrial-style security fencing.
First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoAbsorb, why not take a look today? Also available are a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
