Noise, essentially, refers to undesired sound that can cause disturbance, hinder communication, affect recreational activities, and, in extreme instances, result in hearing impairment or trigger mental and physical symptoms. Timber constructions and barriers serve as efficient absorbers and deflectors of sound, significantly reducing noise levels in diverse settings. Such barriers seamlessly integrate with various exterior designs, enhancing aesthetics with their appealing, welcoming appearance.
The 2.5m EchoGroove Reflective Acoustic Fencing Kit from First Fence works by reflecting noise off its profile. The kit comes in loose form and can be assembled on-site. The acoustic screen kit has a carefully designed profile that is gapless when correctly installed, which prevents sound from travelling through.
Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun.
This product is manufactured from Sawn Spruce and may cause splinters.
The Timber Acoustic Fencing Kits offer a straightforward remedy for homeowners, property developers, and municipal bodies grappling with traffic noise concerns. Ideal for residents in bustling locales or businesses seeking to minimise unwanted noise disruptions.
The system has been independently tested by Salford University to Highways England requirements - (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). Tested and compliant to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, they also comply with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Crafted from Tanalised (UC4) pressure-treated timber sourced from an FSC-certified supplier, this material boasts a naturally pale green hue that seamlessly complements its surroundings. The timber undergoes surface incising at the manufacturing site, a crucial step ensuring optimal preservation for timber in ground contact applications.
Within the loose kit form, you will get Tongue & Groove Acoustic Boards, Timber Gravel Board, Capping Rail, Counter Rail, Cover Strip, Centre Strip. You will need to select either a timber post kit or steel variety. This is a dig-in only format.
Installation is relatively simple, once the posts are in place, fit the horizontal acoustic tongue and groove boards to the posts and build to the required height by interlocking them together. Post centres are 2.4m.
These panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation be cut down where the acoustic fencing is to be installed. Do not install them where they may sit in water.
The manufacturer guarantees a desired service life of 30 years for the timber acoustic barriers, provided they are correctly installed and maintained. Consult a structural engineer to assess wind loading requirements specific to your location.
Our EchoGroove Panels are also available in heights ranging from 1.8 to 5.0m.
These panels not only look great but provide the very best solution to tackle excessive and unwanted noise across many applications, ranging from residential, education, transport, commercial and industrial. This acoustic fencing works by creating an adequate barrier to disturb and repel any unwanted sound. This can have an extreme effect, noticeably reducing noise levels and minimising any previous disruption. Aside from noise management, acoustic fence panels offer greater levels of privacy and are more aesthetically pleasing than industrial-styled security fencing.
First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoAbsorb, why not take a look today? Also available are a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
