11.0ft Wide 7-Rail Farm Gate Kit
A good quality, well made and robust metal field gate will be invaluable when you are looking to secure your livestock and other valuable agricultural assets. Gates come in all shapes and sizes and of different materials, but for a farm gate you can't go wrong with a galvanised steel product.
The 11.0ft Wide 7-Rail Farm Gate Kit from First Fence has been put together to give you everything you need for securing your field gateway; a Gate Leaf, Hanging Post, Slotted Post, a Spring Bolt Kit and Adjustable Gate Eyes. Manufactured from galvanised steel, this product is designed to be hard-wearing and dependable and when installed correctly and maintained it should give many years of solid reliability. It should be considered a real investment as part of your security plans. All components within the kit are available to be purchased separately.
This metal field gate is a classic 7-rail style that is used extensively in rural settings. The lower rails are placed closer together in the lower half of the gate leaf as this will help prevent smaller livestock from escaping, this is particularly useful if the field is next to a road. A metal gate's strength is its weight and so will need very sturdy posts to hang the leaf to; this Kit comes with a Hinge and Catch Post, both made from galvanised steel, with an overall diameter of 114.3mm and actual length of 2000mm (minimum dig in of 600mm). This will require Post Mix to secure into the ground.
A Spring Bolt Kit consisting of a Slider Latch Bar, Spring, M20 Flat Washer and a Tension Pin comes with the Farm Gate Kit. This is easy to fit together and does not need to be bolted on.
Also included are Adjustable Gate Eyes, these are useful when siting a gate on uneven or sloping ground as they allow a lot more flexibility than a standard hinge, and they are galvanised for rust resistance.
