Unwanted noise, commonly referred to as noise pollution, can disrupt communication, leisure activities, and, in extreme circumstances, even cause hearing damage or psychological distress. Wooden structures and barriers are highly effective in dampening and deflecting sound, offering significant contributions to noise reduction in various settings. Timber Acoustic Fencing barriers harmoniously integrate with diverse outdoor aesthetics, offering a pleasing, cosy, and welcoming look.
First Fence's Timber Acoustic Fencing line is designed to combat noise pollution effectively and includes a gate to add an effective exit and entry point. The gate is a dig in format only.
The 1.0m wide EchoReflect Acoustic Timber Gate is available in 1.8m, 2.0m and 2.4m heights and comes in a pre-assembled format. The acoustic gate includes a vertically tailored profile, engineered to be installed precisely to eliminate any gaps, thereby effectively blocking sound transmission. If you have chosen an acoustic barrier, it is highly recommended to fit this gate within it.
These timber sound barrier gates function by deflecting noise from their surface profiles, which consist of vertical sawn boards and cover strips. They are secured with horizontal timber rails to reduce the possibility of gaps that could allow sound transmission.
Timber Acoustic Fencing and Gates provide a simple resolution for homeowners, builders, and local authorities grappling with traffic noise problems. They are also perfect for bustling areas or businesses seeking to mitigate unwanted noise disturbances.
The Acoustic Fencing system has undergone independent testing by Salford University, meeting Highways England requirements (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). It is also compliant with BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, aligning with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Manufactured from Tanalised (UC4), pressure-treated timber from an FSC certified supplier, this wood has a natural pale green colour that blends seamlessly with its surroundings. This timber is surface incised at the manufacturer's site and this is an important factor in achieving the very best preservative protection for ground contact timber.
These gates can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation is cut down where the acoustic fencing and gates is to be installed and do not install where they may sit in water.
The timber acoustic barriers and gates have a 30-year desired service life offered by the manufacturer and are designed to be maintenance free, subject to correct installation. Check with a structural engineer for wind loading for your specific location.
These gates not only enhance aesthetics but also provide an effective solution for addressing excessive and unwanted noise in various applications, including residential, education, transport, commercial, and industrial sectors. In addition to noise management, acoustic gates offer increased privacy and a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to industrial-styled security gates.
First Fence also has a range called EchoGroove and EchoAbsorb, why not take a look today? Also available is a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
