Product Description

Barbed Wire Bracket for Mesh Fencing - Y-Shaped

Barbed wire is an affordable security enhancement that boosts perimeter protection and discourages intruders from climbing a fence. Acting as a physical deterrent, it becomes even more effective when paired with other security measures, transforming a sturdy fence into a highly secure barrier. This makes barbed wire a highly economical upgrade for your mesh fencing.

Installing barbed wire on top of a fence can be challenging, but the First Fence mesh fencing barbed wire bracket offers an excellent solution.

Introducing barbed wire brackets

First Fence's barbed wire brackets provide a flexible and robust solution for increasing the height of your security fencing. Designed to attach to fence posts, they serve as a barbed wire bracket, enabling the installation of barbed wire and enhancing overall security.

The mesh fencing extension brackets have been designed to work with First Fence's 60 x 60mm x 2mm fence posts, and they feature a sleeve that fits directly into the open box section, extending the height by up to 700mm, depending on the style. Each post bracket is made from high-quality, weather-resistant materials.

Applications

The barbed wire bracket is the perfect partner for 868 twin mesh, V-mesh and 358 mesh fencing. 358 mesh in particular is known for its anti-climb properties, and it becomes even more challenging to breach with the addition of barbed wire. The presence of barbed wire signals a higher security level. The visibility of barbed wire and similar products strengthens the perimeter, reducing the risk of theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access. This is particularly vital in places like warehouses, storage yards, and sensitive government or military areas.

Barbed wire brackets for fencing improve security by making it more challenging for intruders to climb over. These extensions are commonly utilised in high-security locations such as industrial zones, correctional facilities, airports, and other areas requiring extra protection.

There is a huge range of security fence toppers available, including barbed or razor wire, rotating spikes, anti-climb spikes, and sensor-activated toppers. When considering adding such products to the top of your fencing, the safe and secure installation is very important. First Fence is delighted to reveal its new product line of mesh post extension brackets that are designed to work with First Fence 60 x 60mm x 2mm box section steel fencing posts.

Choose your style

First Fence's barbed wire brackets are available in three styles: a straight, cranked or Y-shaped option.

  • Straight extension brackets give a vertical addition without changing the upright structure of the fence.
  • The cranked option angles outwards and provides added deterrence by making a barrier that is difficult to scale.
  • The Y-shaped extension extends outwards from the post in a dual-branched shape, which is very useful for anywhere needing additional barbed wire.

Each style is also available as a corner, intermediate or end version, enabling you to add to any length or direction of fencing. The corner and end posts are a 'lugged' design. The intermediate comes as a lugged or holed version.

Intermediate Holed Barbed Wire Brackets

This product is for use with intermediate posts throughout the fencing run. It has 3 holes on two opposite faces for threading through line wire.

Intermediate Lugged Barbed Wire Brackets

This is also for use with intermediate posts and has 12 lugs for tensioning barbed wire.

Corner Lugged Barbed Wire Brackets

The post extender is for when there is a change in direction of your fencing. This has 12 lugs.

End Lugged Barbed Wire Brackets

This post extender is designed for your beginning and end posts. It features 6 lugs which can be used for tensioning the end of the barbed wire using ferrule winders.

Compatibility

These mesh post extenders are designed to be compatible with First Fence 60 x 60mm box section fence posts (max wall of 2mm). These may be suitable for retro-fitting in other 60 x 60mm box section posts with a maximum wall of 2mm, but they may require some modification, and compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
