The central section of our modular speed ramp system, the Speed Bump Middle Sections are an ideal solution for controlling road traffic speeds in areas with a high level of foot traffic such as around schools and playgrounds. Each Middle section has been constructed from 100% recycled Therma Plastic and is available in two heights, 50mm and 75mm, and two colours, either black or high visibility yellow.
Controlling the speeds of traffic around areas where there is a high level of foot traffic can greatly improve overall health and safety by reducing the risk of vehicle based accidents, which is where speed bumps come in. These raised sections on the road require drivers to slow down in order to pass over them safely. Travelling at these slower speeds greatly reduces the risk of accidents which can be caused by speeding.
These Speed Bump middle sections form the larger central section of the speed bump and can be completed with the use of End Sections. They are available in two different heights, either 50mm or 75mm, which affects the speed at which the bump can be travelled over without causing damage to the vehicle.
The Speed Bump middle sections have been constructed from an incredibly durable and hard wearing 100% recycled Therma Plastic material and are available in two colours, black or a high visibility yellow which can help to increase driver awareness as well as making them more visible in poor weather or low light conditions.
The height of the speed bump sections plays an important part in the speeds at which vehicles can pass over them safely. The higher the bump, the slower that the oncoming vehicle will need to travel.
Speed bump systems are ideal for use in areas which have a high foot traffic, such as outside of schools or parks, where there may be a large number of children and young people crossing the road. They are also suitable for use on construction and industrial sites to reduce traffic speeds and greatly reducing the risks of collisions with people or equipment.
The ground type required for these speed bump sections would be either concrete or tarmac as each section will need to be secured in place with the use of M12 Asphalt Road Fixing kits which are bolted down into the road surface.
