The S/K-110 WIL wide inner leaf lintel has been designed for cavity widths between 110mm and 125mm. These lintels have been designed to bear a standard load and with their wider inner leaves are suitable for supporting block work or stonework which may have a wider profile than standard brickwork. This standard load lintel can support blocks or stonework on its inner leaf with a maximum width of 150mm (125mm leaf width + 25mm overhang)
They are available in 150mm increments starting at 750mm up to 3600mm, which allows for load bearing over a wide variety of gap sizes.
Please note: The width of the lintel will need to allow for a 150mm minimum end bearing at each end of the lintel. For example if the gap is 1800mm then an addition 300mm is required on the length of the lintel.
This range of standard load bearing lintels has been made from high quality pre-galvanised mild steel and satisfy the thermal performance requirements of England and Wales’ Part L of the building regulations, Northern Ireland’s part F and Scotland’s technical handbook, section 6.
In order for this lintel to bear the loads that are specified in the table below, the lintel will need to be installed correctly.
The figures also take into account the different loading types which are common in traditional cavity wall construction. These figures have been acquired through testing in accordance with the requirements of standards BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003
Differential Total UDL kN 3:1 (up to 75% loading on the inner leaf)
Differential Total UDL kN 19:1 (up to 95% loading on the inner leaf)
Length (150mm increments) | Height (mm) | Steel Thickness (mm) | Total UDL kN 3:1 | Total UDL kN 19:1 |
750 - 1200 | 95 | 2.0 | 13 | 11 |
1350 - 1800 | 107 | 2.0 | 17 | 14 |
1950 - 2100 | 142 | 2.5 | 23 | 18 |
