Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing

The ProFence® 868 Mesh series has undergone rigorous testing processes and has earned accreditation under the LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) standards. This accreditation signifies an impressive one-minute delay against physical attacks employing an assortment of compact hand tools from Toolkit A, including glass cutters, wrenches, punches, and pliers. These small and easily concealable tools are the preferred choice of potential intruders due to their covert nature. This pivotal sixty-second delay grants crucial time for on-site security personnel to detect any breach on CCTV and respond swiftly.

First Fence's ProFence® product line offers both 868 and 358 mesh options, encompassing fencing kits and single and double leaf gates, available in diverse heights and widths, along with various installation methods.

Features and Benefits

Our double leaf gate provides users with flexibility in access control, allowing one or both leaves to be opened and closed. Crafted from high-quality steel, which is hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards. It is further fortified by a polyester powder coating, available in a variety of RAL colours, to enhance its resistance against wear, damage, rust, vandalism and corrosion.

This product comes in a full kit form including a sliding gate leaf, a catch leaf, two hinge gate posts, two drop bolts, six adjustable gate eyes, and ribbed inserts for the gate frame and posts. The gate leaves feature an 868 mesh infill, a well-established security mesh configuration characterised by 6mm thick vertical wires and 8mm thick horizontals, making it highly resistant to cutting and climbing. This robust mesh is ideal for scenarios requiring clear perimeter visibility or integration with CCTV systems.

To enhance security, our gate kit includes six adjustable gate eyes, ensuring gate stability even in the event of single hinge failure. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is securely fastened with a snap-off nut, minimising the risk of post-installation removal. Furthermore, two Drop Bolts add an extra layer of safety.

ProFence® Fencing is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.

Installation Made Easy

Our SR1-rated gate kit is available in both dig-in and bolt-down formats and follows the same installation process as our standard mesh fencing and gates, making it adaptable to diverse ground conditions. Whether you're dealing with grass or other soft terrains that require the dig-in option, or concrete and other solid ground types demanding bolt-down posts, we offer comprehensive solutions.

The bolt-down kit includes essential ground anchor bolts, while the dig-in kit requires the addition of Post Mix to your order. For optimal installation, we recommend four bags per post and that you use a C20 or C25 grade product.

Versatile Access Control

Our gate is designed for both pedestrian access and vehicles, boasting a 7.0m width. It incorporates a sliding latch bolt to securely close the leaves, while the drop bolts ensure steadfast leaf placement. You retain the flexibility to open one or both leaves to align with your specific location requirements.

A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
