Selecting the right product for play spaces involves careful consideration. The height of the railing should prevent easy climbing or slipping through by children. Vertical railings must be closely spaced to avoid a child's head getting stuck while ensuring proper visibility. Smooth surfaces without sharp edges or protruding elements are essential to prevent cuts or scrapes. Additionally, the product's durability, weather resistance, and low maintenance are crucial for withstanding outdoor conditions, coupled with compliance with safety standards.

Features and Benefits

Crafted using a unique and environmentally conscious technique, the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate stands out from other products, appealing to customers seeking a reduced eco-impact during production. This innovative approach involves custom-made, laser-cut components that are pressed together to form exceptionally strong bonds, minimising the need for high-energy welding. The pressed bonds are robust and as strong as their welded counterparts.

Each gate kit is crafted from pre-galvanised steel meeting BS 10346 standards, coated with polyester powder for durability against harsh outdoor elements. This double-layer ensures long-lasting functionality while preserving aesthetic appeal.

Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.

Featuring a versatile design, these gates provide on-site flexibility without requiring particular left or right-hand specifications, making the installation decision-making process more straightforward. The modular functionality allows for easy adjustments in the event of gate shifts, providing flexibility beyond fixed hardware.

The single leaf gate kit includes a hinge and catch post, a Play Sec Railing leaf, and three adjustable gate eyes. Three hinges ensure compliance with BS 12604, maintaining safety even if one hinge fails. The gate hooks, fully welded to the gate post, create a fixed-axis hinge, eliminating vertical movement.

Pre-drilled holes make it straightforward to attach gate eyes and a drop bolt, with included plastic plugs to cover unused holes on the gate attack face. Compatible with our security locks, the gate allows for up to 30mm of adjustment from the catch post, ensuring easy installation.

The rails are set at 100mm centres to prevent entrapment, and the top bows are 90mm to avoid wrist or neck traps. The design and manufacture of the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate comply with BS EN 1176 regulations. The UniSlide Slider Single Gate Kit comes included with all EnviroRail single gates, ensuring a secure and smooth sliding mechanism for reliable operation.

The gate provides 50mm ground clearance when correctly installed, opening 90° in and out. Available in various heights and widths, the gates come in dig-in or bolt-down versions, suitable for diverse environments. For the dig-in variant, Post Mix needs to be added to your order, and for the bolt-down version, four M16 x 125mm ground anchor bolts per post are required.

The EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing gate range is fully compatible with the Play Sec Railing range enabling you to seamlessly match your new gate to an existing system.
