The Apollo® 1.8m x 3.0m 868 Twin Mesh Single Leaf Gate Kit is a strong, reliable and safe access point solution that is ideal for use in a range of locations. With a large 3.0m width and 1.8m height, it’s ideal for locations that require controlled access for large groups of pedestrians or for vehicle passage, such as maintenance vehicles, deliveries, or emergency access.
Perfect for use on school grounds, business estates, parks, or warehouses, this gate provides a strong and reliable point of entry while remaining compatible with modern mesh fencing systems.
Key Features and Benefits
868 Twin Mesh Infill
At the core of this gate is a high-strength 868 mesh panel, featuring two 8mm thick horizontal steel wires and a 6mm vertical wire between them. This configuration provides a high level of strength whilst keeping overall weight to a minimum. These wires also provide an excellent level of protection against would-be intruders attempting to cut through to gain access to your site.
The mesh’s narrow aperture also deters climbing and provides excellent visibility, making it a suitable choice for sites with CCTV surveillance.
High-Quality Steel construction
Made from pre-galvanised steel, each gate is finished in a tough, professionally applied polyester powder coating, offering long-term protection from corrosion, moisture, and environmental damage. Choose from a range of colours to either match existing fencing or create a standout access point.
All corners are mitred for a sleek appearance and to eliminate sharp edges, helping reduce injury risks, especially important in public or high-traffic spaces.
Locking Drop Bolt
Included with this 3.0m gate kit is a locking drop bolt, a crucial component for wide single-leaf gates. It offers dual functionality:
- Holds the gate firmly closed, adding stability and security when locked.
- Keeps the gate safely open, ideal for high-traffic periods, deliveries, or when extended access is needed.
This feature adds an extra layer of control over gate movement and helps maintain site safety in variable operating conditions.
Modular System for Flexible Installation
The Apollo® 868 gate range is designed with installation ease in mind:
- Universal Handing: Install the gate to open left or right as needed, no need to specify in advance.
- Pre-Drilled Holes: Designed for quick fitting of hinges, locks, and optional accessories.
- Plastic Plugs & Inserts: Included to maintain a clean, sealed finish over any unused mounting points.
The included slider mechanism is also fully upgradeable to a Gatemaster mechanical or digital lock system with no need to remove the gate leaf.
Suitable for Installation on a Range of Ground Types
Choose the right post type based on your site’s ground conditions:
- Bolt-Down Posts: Best for solid surfaces such as concrete or tarmac. Each post requires 4 x M16 x 125mm Ground Anchor Bolts (sold separately).
- Dig-In Posts: Ideal for softer surfaces like soil or turf. Installation requires Post Mix (refer to the recommended quantities when ordering).
Safety Compliant
For added peace of mind, this gate is compatible with an optional Gate restrainer, allowing compliance with BS 12604. The tether limits the movement of the gate leaf to within 300mm in the rare event of hinge failure—helping to prevent accidents and improve safety on site. Pre-drilled fixing points make the tether quick and easy to install.
