The Apollo 1.5m High x 5.0m Wide 868 Twin Mesh Single Leaf Gate Kit is the ideal solution for sites that require a wide, secure pedestrian access point without compromising on strength, visibility or long-term durability. With its heavy-duty construction and extra-wide design, this gate is suitable for locations such as schools, parks, commercial premises, and sports facilities, where ease of movement and safety are essential.

This gate is built with a strong 868 twin wire mesh infill, comprising 6mm vertical wires and twin 8mm horizontal wires. This combination provides a rigid, anti-climb structure that is difficult to cut or damage, offering a high level of protection against tampering or unauthorised access. The mesh pattern is designed with security and practicality in mind, small apertures reduce the risk of climbing or items being passed through, while maintaining excellent visibility across the boundary. This is especially useful in public areas where monitoring and surveillance are important.

The 5.0m width provides a generous opening for wide pedestrian traffic or for the movement of larger items such as maintenance tools, push trolleys, grounds equipment, bicycles, or even small vehicles such as cars. Despite being a single leaf gate, the added width offers functionality often reserved for double gates, without the need for a centre post or additional hardware. It’s ideal for environments that need extra clearance without switching to a double leaf design.

This gate is compatible with the Twin Mesh fencing system and can also be used alongside other mesh types such as V mesh and Safe Top mesh. It ensures a seamless look and professional finish when integrated into an existing or new perimeter system. The steel is pre-galvanised to BS EN 10346 standards and powder coated to BS 13438, offering excellent resistance against corrosion, scratches and everyday wear. A range of standard RAL colours is available, with bespoke colours available on request.

For added convenience, the gate features universal hanging, meaning it can be installed to open either to the left or right depending on your site layout. You can also choose between bolt down or dig-in posts to suit the ground conditions of your installation area.

Security is handled by a robust modular sliding latch which can be secured using a padlock. For added peace of mind, the gate is compatible with digital access locks and quick-exit digital locking systems, allowing for improved access control in higher risk or busier environments.

The gate kit includes everything you need for installation: a single 5.0m wide gate leaf, catch and hinge posts, drop bolt, sliding latch, adjustable gate eyes, and ribbed inserts for the frame and posts. Please note that post mix (for dig-in posts) or ground anchor bolts (for bolt down posts) are not included and should be purchased separately.

Our Apollo gates comply with the BS EN 12604 safety standard by incorporating a three-hinge system. This engineering requirement prevents gate failure in the event of a single hinge breaking, thus ensuring operational safety.
