First Fence is excited to introduce our newest range of products.: Timber Acoustic Fencing. This innovative collection offers three distinct styles: EchoGroove, EchoReflect, and EchoAbsorb, each meticulously designed to efficiently address unwanted noise.

Increased noise levels, often referred to as sound intrusion, can disrupt communication and recreational activities and, in extreme cases, result in hearing loss or mental health concerns. Wooden barriers very efficiently absorb and reflect sound, lowering noise levels in various environments.

The EchoAbsorb Absorbent Acoustic Fencing Kit, available in a 5.0m size, can be purchased either as a loose kit for on-site assembly or as pre-assembled panels. These kits are highly sought after for their adaptability and applicability in residential, commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare environments.

Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun and two M10 x 150mm coach screws per rail.

Please be aware that we do not recommend bolting down your Acoustic Fencing. For the best results, we advise digging in your Acoustic Fencing to help ensure wind loading and site safety.

Features and Benefits

These timber acoustic panels excel at absorbing and muffling unwanted noise, and they are ideal for containing sound within a particular area. The two-part panels consist of one side with sound-reflective vertical sawn boards and cover strips, and the other side is equipped with a protective membrane and rockwool for sound absorption.

The EchoAbsorb Acoustic Fencing Kit offers a simple solution for local authorities dealing with traffic noise, builders aiming to minimise construction noise, and homeowners desiring a little tranquillity.

All timber acoustic fencing in this range has been independently tested by Salford University, meeting the standards of Highways England (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). It also complies with BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, following Highways Sector Scheme 2C for prefabricated environmental barriers.

Crafted from UC4 Tanalised, pressure-treated timber sourced from an FSC-certified supplier, this wood boasts a natural, subtle pale green hue that harmonises perfectly with its environment. Surface incision during manufacturing provides optimal preservative protection, particularly for timber in ground contact.

The loose kit includes EchoAbsorb Straight Boards, Timber Gravel Board, Capping and Counter Rails, Horizontal Rails, and Cover Strips, forming one bay of 5.0m high by 2.4m wide timber acoustic fencing.

These timber acoustic barriers offer a manufacturer-provided 30-year service life and are designed to be maintenance-free with proper installation. The panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended to clear vegetation from the installation area and avoid placing the panels in waterlogged locations.

Beyond noise reduction, these panels enhance privacy and provide a visually appealing alternative to industrial-style security fencing. The EchoAbsorb panels are also available in heights ranging from 1.8 to 5.0m.
