2.5m High x 3.0m Wide EchoAbsorb Absorbent Acoustic Fencing Kit
Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun and two M10 x 150mm coach screws per rail.
Please be aware that we recommend digging in your Acoustic Fencing for the most secure results. We do not advise bolting down.
First Fence is pleased to introduce this range: Timber Acoustic Fencing. This innovative range includes three styles, EchoGroove, EchoReflect, and EchoAbsorb, all designed to combat unwanted noise effectively.
Excessive noise, or sound intrusion, can disrupt communication and leisure activities and, in severe cases, may cause hearing damage or affect mental health. Timber barriers effectively absorb and reflect sound, helping to significantly lower noise levels in a variety of settings.
The 2.5m x 3.0m EchoAbsorb Absorbent Acoustic Fencing Kit is available as a loose kit for on-site assembly or as pre-assembled panels.
Features and Benefits
The EchoAbsorb Acoustic Fencing Kit features dual-action panels to combat noise. One side, made of vertical timber boards, reflects sound, while the other side uses a core of high-density Rockwool and a protective membrane to absorb it.
This design effectively reduces noise from sources like road traffic, construction, and industrial sites, making it an ideal noise mitigation solution for residential, commercial, and transport applications.
Key Specifications
Acoustic Performance: The system has been independently tested by Salford University. It is certified to meet Highways England standard BS EN 1793 (Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices) and complies with durability standards BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2.
Material Construction: Manufactured from FSC-certified timber that is pressure-treated to UC4 Tanalised specification. The timber is surface-incised to maximise preservative penetration, making it suitable for ground contact.
Service Life: The fencing is designed to be maintenance-free and has a manufacturer-specified 30-year desired service life, subject to correct installation and site conditions.
Finish and Function: The timber has a natural pale green finish, which can be painted or stained with a breathable product. The solid panel construction also provides a high degree of visual privacy as an alternative to industrial-style fencing.
Kit and Installation Information
This loose component kit provides all the necessary timber parts to construct a single 2.5m high by 3.0m wide acoustic fencing bay. Inside, you'll find: EchoAbsorb Straight Boards, a Gravel Board, Capping and Counter Rails, Horizontal Rails, and Cover Strips.
Post Installation: The system requires a dig-in post installation. It is compatible with either timber posts or galvanised steel posts, which are available separately from First Fence. Steel posts are supplied with wooden wedges for installation.
Site Prerequisites: Before beginning your project, ensure the fence line is completely clear of vegetation and that the panels will not be installed in areas with poor drainage or standing water. For safety, a structural engineer must be consulted to verify that the installation plan is appropriate for the wind conditions at your specific location.
Our EchoAbsorb Panels are available in heights from 1.8m to 10.0m and also in a 2.4m width format.
