Product Description

15.0ft Wide 7-Rail Galvanised Farm Gate Leaf

A Farm Gate must put up with a lot and needs to be sturdy and very hard-wearing. Bearing this in mind, a metal gate will be the superior choice over a similar design timber product as it will be able to endure the changes in weather and temperature and also being accidentally bumped with farm vehicles or herds of cattle.

It is important to replace an old or damaged gate promptly, as it acts as an essential security feature within an agricultural setting. Also, faulty gates are cumbersome to operate and maintain, so upgrading to a new galvanised gate leaf is a great investment.

Features & Benefits

This farm gate has a very traditional design. The construction of the rails and box bracing makes it structurally very sound and able to withstand the force exerted on it by large farm animals or knocks from heavy farm vehicles. Made from galvanised steel, it is highly resistant to rust or corrosion, which will ensure the gate has a long, useful life. When it comes to durability and reliability, a galvanised steel farm gate is a popular choice among farmers.

This metal gate leaf measures 1145mm in height and is 15ft wide (4575mm). The top and bottom bars measure 45mm Ø x 1.5m wall thickness, and the five infill bars, or intermediate bars, measure 32mm Ø x 1.2mm wall thickness. Each gate comes with a spring-loaded Bolt Kit (including spring, cotter pin, washer and bolt) and two M20 x 150mm adjustable eye bolts with two hex nuts. Each gate leaf has two boss holes close together at the top. This is for adjustment, or if you have different hook spaces when hanging your leaf.

The 7-Rail Galvanised Farm Gate is a dig-in format superbly suited to rural environments with softer ground substance. To securely fasten the gate into the ground, you will need post mix, which is available from First Fence.

Although galvanised steel is a very hard-wearing material, it is recommended that the metal gate leaf is cleaned periodically to remove any dirt and debris with a stiff brush or water, and this will help to prevent the build-up of corrosive substances. Also, check the gate regularly for any signs of rust or damage that may have occurred. Take action to repair or touch up the coating to prevent corrosion and identify and repair or replace any damaged or faulty parts.

First Fence also stocks hanging and catch posts, so if you require a replacement, then we have you covered. Post Mix is also available and will ensure a very secure installation that should give years of service when properly fitted and maintained.
