13.0ft Wide 7-Rail Farm Gate Kit
Farm security is an important consideration, livestock need to be kept safe and secure and valuable machinery and vehicles out of the grasp of thieves. There are many aspects to security however a heavy-duty galvanised steel gate across gate and roadways will certainly be a useful addition to your plans.
First Fence has a range of Farm Gate Kits available in the following widths (the height is a standard 1145mm) 3ft, 4t, 5ft, 6ft, 7ft, 8ft, 9ft, 10ft, 11ft, 12ft, 13ft, 14ft, 15ft and 16ft. The gate leaf is a classic 7-bar galvanised steel format with a box section at each end of the gate to which the 7 bars are welded, this forms a very sturdy gate panel. The bars at the lower half of the gate leaf are positioned closer together and this helps stop small livestock escaping from their enclosure.
Steel gates are heavy and need equally sturdy gate posts to fix them to. A Hanging and Slotted Post are supplied with this Kit. Each has an overall diameter of 114.3mm (4.5") and an actual length of 2000mm allowing a minimum dig in of 600mm. The Hanging Post has two lugs for attaching the Gate Leaf with the Adjustable Gate Eyes that also come with the Kit. Adjustable Gate Eyes allow a gate to be sited on uneven ground which is often the case with farm fields, due to this the ground clearance for this gate may vary.
This gate format is a dig in type and suited to a softer ground substance of rural settings. Post Mix will be needed to fix the posts very securely into the ground. Correct installation and routine maintenance will ensure the gate gives you many years of service.
