The 1.0m High Standard Ball Top Railings are a hard-wearing, aesthetically pleasing form of perimeter fencing, suitable for a range of applications, such as perimeter demarcation or securing flower beds to prevent trampling. Each Ball Top Railing kit is made from high-quality galvanised steel, enhancing its resistance to weathering and corrosion.
A stylish take on vertical bar railing systems, these feature vertical bars with a steel ball affixed to the top. Whilst these balls add a touch of style to the railings, they also provide an important safety feature by eliminating potentially sharp points or edges on the railing tops.
Made from high-quality steel, each bay of the 1.0m High Standard Ball Top Railing kits is designed to be strong and durable. They are also resistant to the elements thanks to their zinc galvanised coatings, which form a protective barrier that prevents rust and corrosion.
Each bay consists of a series of 12mm vertical rails, each topped with a steel ball and held securely in place by two 8mm-thick bars that run horizontally along the top and bottom. The panels are then attached to 50mm x 50mm hollow box-section steel posts, either by digging in or by bolting down, depending on your requirements.
It is possible to customise your ball top railings with high-quality Polyester Powder Coatings (PPC), available in a range of RAL colours. The PPC finishes not only create an aesthetically pleasing railing system but also provide the steel with an additional protective layer against the damaging effects of weathering and rust.
These railing kits can be installed on a range of hard and soft ground types, depending on the posts selected, either dug in or bolted down.
Dig in posts: The dig in posts are longer than their bolt-down counterparts and are suitable for locations where holes can be dug easily. A section of these posts will be dug into the ground and then secured into place with the use of post mix.
Bolt down posts: The bolt down posts differ from the dig-in version as they have a base plate pre-attached to the bottom of the post. These plates allow ground anchors to be used to bolt these posts down onto harder ground surfaces, such as concrete.
Each 1.0m High Standard Ball Top Railing kit contains the following items:
Step One: Drill a 6mm pilot hole in the desired location for the new cleat; the gradient dictates this.
Step Two: Open the hole to 12mm to accept the M10 bolts (as listed in the step below).
Step Three: Touch up and spray the hole, if required.
Step Four: Attach the cleat using the M10 x 70mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (for 0.9m to 1.2m height systems) or M10 x 80mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (1.5m to 2.4m height systems).
Step Five: Attach the railing panel according to the standard installation guidance.
Note: Please ensure the spacing relationships are followed according to the existing hole centres on the posts.
