The EnviroRail® 1.0m High Bow Top Playground Railing system offers a safe, durable, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional steel bow top railings, designed with children's safety as a priority. The Play Sec railings have been made to meet the strict safety regulations in order to comply with the RoSPA standards. 

The rounded bow top design eliminates sharp edges and points at the top of the railings. Additionally, these railings are made with gaps no larger than 89mm, ensuring minimal spacing to prevent children from trapping their heads, arms, or other limbs, thereby reducing the risk of injury.

A standout feature of the EnviroRail® Bow Top Railings is the unique construction method used for each bay. Unlike traditional bow top railing systems, the EnviroRail® range employs a reduced-weld system, utilising specially designed components that form robust connections through pressing. This innovative approach minimises the need for energy- and resource-intensive welding, making the construction process more efficient and sustainable.

Each EnviroRail® kit is made from pre-galvanised steel hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes offer exceptional strength while remaining lightweight, simplifying handling, transportation, and installation.

Each 1.0m Bow Top Railing Kit includes:

• 1 x 1.0m High EnviroRail® Bow Top Play Sec railing panel
• 1 x railing post
• 1 x support leg
• 1 x ribbed post insert
• 4 x twist cleats
• 2 x M10 x 70mm bolts
• 2 x M10 shear nuts

To suit various locations and ground types, these kits come with either dig-in or bolt-down posts. (Note: Post mix and ground anchor bolts are not included and must be purchased separately.)

Polyester Powder Coated Finish

The EnviroRail® 1.0m Bow Top Playground Railing kits come with a high-quality polyester powder coating (PPC). This product line comes in a multicoloured finish, allowing you to create bright and colourful play area perimeters. These coatings also provide an additional function of protecting the steel against the damaging effects of corrosion and rust formation. The bright and varied colours of this railing make a playground more inviting and appealing to children, adding a cheerful and vibrant look. A mix of colours can stimulate children's imagination too. The bright, contrasting colours increase visibility, making it easier for children, parents and supervisors to spot them, avoiding accidents. The distinct colours can also help anyone with visual impairments or colour blindness to navigate the playground more easily.

If the powder coating is damaged, it can be restored using a touch-up spray, maintaining both protection and appearance.

How to step your panel

Step One: Drill a 6mm pilot hole in the desired location for the new cleat; this is dictated by the gradient.

Step Two: Open the hole to a 12mm hole size to take the M10 bolts (as listed in the step below).

Step Three: Touch up and spray the hole, if required.

Step Four: Attach the cleat using the M10 x 70mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (for 0.9m to 1.2m height systems) or M10 x 80mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (1.5m to 2.4m height systems).

Step Five: Attach the railing panel as per standard installation guidance.

Note: Please ensure the spacing relationships are followed according to the existing hole centres on the posts.
