Flat top railings, also referred to as flat handrails or flat bar railings, represent a popular railing system widely used in variety of architectural and construction contexts. These railings are characterised by a horizontal top surface, imparting a sleek and contemporary appearance, and are typically constructed from metal.
Offered by First Fence, EnviroRail® Flat Top Railings stand out as a versatile solution for low-security boundary demarcation. Their robust and adaptable nature makes them perfect for applications in public spaces such as parks, gardens, and schools. These railings serve a multitude of purposes, ranging from safeguarding flower beds to establishing pedestrian walkways and delineating perimeters around school playgrounds.
The 0.9m High EnviroRail® Flat Top Railing Kit may appear to be a standard type product however it stands apart from these due to its environmentally aware manufacturing method which sees less reliance on energy-intensive welding. The system makes use of series of custom-made, laser-cut, pre-galvanised interlocking parts that form very robust joins when pressed together during assembly. For anyone concerned about environmental impact during gate production, this could be the perfect choice.
Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of pre-galvanised steel hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.
Each kit includes a panel, post, support leg, twisted cleats and necessary fixings, with the option for either dig-in or bolt-down posts. Crafted from premium zinc-galvanised steel, these railing kits boast a durable finish, ensuring an extended functional lifespan. To add a personalised touch, choose from a variety of RAL colours for a high-quality Polyester Powder Coating, providing not only additional protection but also a sleek and attractive finish. It has been designed to work with the EnviroRail® Gate of the same height and style enabling you to create a perfectly uniform railing run.
For the dig-in option, Post Mix is recommended, with two bags per post suggested. For the bolt-down selection, add 4 of the M16 x 125mm Ground Anchor Bolts per post to your purchase.
First Fence offers an extensive range of railings in both standard and EnviroRail® formats. Gates in both single and double leaf varieties are also available to purchase. Heavy Duty Padlocks and Locking Drop Bolts are ideal for adding to a gate for extra safety and security.
Step One: Drill a 6mm pilot hole in the desired location for the new cleat; this is dictated by the gradient.
Step Two: Open the hole to a 12mm hole size to take the M10 bolts (as listed in the step below).
Step Three: Touch up and spray the hole, if required.
Step Four: Attach the cleat using the M10 x 70mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (for 0.9m to 1.2m height system) or M10 x 80mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (1.5m to 2.4m height systems).
Step Five: Attach the railing panel as per standard installation guidance.
Note: Please ensure the spacing relationships are followed according to the existing hole centres on the posts.
