What does SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 accreditation mean?

In order for a product to be accredited, it must go through a very thorough assessment to determine its ability to resist a decisive attack with a variety of tools and within a certain timeframe. Common hand tools such as bolt cutters, pliers, wire cutters and screwdrivers are small and easily concealed by a would-be intruder and it is these, and others from what is referred to as Toolkit A, that are used in a sustained attack lasting sixty seconds.. These sixty seconds could make all the difference for a breach to be detected by the on-site security team and them responding to it efficiently.

The LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) accreditation subjects security gates and fencing to meticulous scrutiny, conducting a comprehensive assessment of their resilience against determined attempts at unauthorised entry. It rigorously tests the equipment's ability to withstand forced entry, subjecting each component to trials using common hand tools like bolt cutters, pliers, wire cutters and screwdrivers. These tools, easily concealed by potential intruders, play a vital role in determining how quickly someone could employ them to breach security.

The 3.0m x 3.0m Wide ProFence® 868 Mesh Single Gate Leaf Kit features a sliding gate leaf, catch and hinge post, three gate eyes, and Ribbed Inserts for the posts and gate frame.

Crafted from steel, which has then been hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards, Each of these gates is then coated with polyester powder, this gate is purpose-built for permanent outdoor use. This design ensures substantial protection against rust, corrosion, and the rigours of wear-and-tear, guaranteeing enduring stability.

The mesh fill of the ProFence® 868 Mesh gate showcases the distinctive 868 Twin Mesh, characterised by 6mm vertical wires intersecting with 8mm horizontal wires. This mesh configuration offers outstanding visibility while effectively preventing the passage of stolen items or unauthorised individuals.

Safety remains top priority with the inclusion of three gate eyes, meaning that if one hinge point were to fail, the gate remains secure, preventing hazardous drops and potential injuries. Each gate eye is firmly fastened with a shear nut, rendering it tamper-proof once in place.

For added security, the gate can be firmly locked in the closed position using the sliding latch bolt. The kit also incorporates a drop bolt designed to securely hold the gate in the open position, featuring an M5x20mm one-way pan head bolt and M5 shear nut to deter unauthorised removal.

Installation made simple

The ProFence® gate offers installation flexibility, available in either a dig-in or bolt-down format. It's important to check your ground conditions before making your choice. The bolt-down option comes with four ground anchor bolts for each post, while the dig-in post option requires Post Mix, available as an additional purchase. For a 3.0m high gate, it is recommended to use four bags of Post Mix per post, ensuring a rock-solid foundation. It is suggested that you use either C20 or C25 post mix.

A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
