Our security-rated 868 mesh gate, featuring a double-leaf configuration, is constructed from steel which has been hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards. They have then been coated with a robust polyester powder layer. This coating provides protection against rust, corrosion, and daily wear and tear. Moreover, it is available in a range of RAL colours. This protective layer not only adds durability but can also be customised to align with your corporate branding, imparting a sleek and professional appearance to your fencing and gate.
The gate is equipped with the distinctive 868 Mesh, also known as Twin Mesh due to its double horizontal wires. This exceptionally sturdy wire mesh features a narrow pattern that hinders object passage while making scaling or cutting attempts challenging. However, it allows for efficient perimeter monitoring, making it particularly suitable for scenarios where clear visibility is a top priority, especially when integrated with CCTV systems.
The gate kit includes six adjustable gate eyes, ensuring that even in the unlikely event of a single hinge failure, the gate remains secure, preventing accidents, damage, or injuries. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is securely fastened with a snap-off nut, reducing the risk of post-installation tampering. Two Drop Bolts enhance the security of your security-rated double gate.

Installation of this certified security gate follows the standard mesh gate format and is relatively straightforward.
First Fence's SR1-rated mesh gate kit is available in both dig-in and bolt-down formats, accommodating a wide range of ground conditions. It is crucial to assess the ground conditions where you intend to install the gate before making your purchase decision. Soft soil or grassy areas necessitate the dig-in option, while concrete or solid ground requires bolt-down posts.
The bolt-down kit includes essential ground anchor bolts. If you opt for the dig-in kit, consider adding Post Mix to your order, with a recommended four bags per post for a sturdy installation. Post Mix is also available in larger bulk quantities if needed. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.
This gate is generously sized to cater to both pedestrian access and small vehicles such as forklifts. The sliding latch bolt securely keeps the leaves closed, while the drop bolts ensure their steadfast positioning. You retain the flexibility to open one or both leaves according to your specific site requirements.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
