Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing

The complete ProFence® series has undergone rigorous testing and has received accreditation under the stringent SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 standards. This accreditation signifies a one-minute delay against hostile attacks using a variety of hand tools from Toolkit A. These tools may include glass cutters, wrenches, and pliers, all of which are compact and easily concealed by potential intruders seeking entry into valuable properties. These crucial sixty seconds could provide sufficient time for on-site security personnel to detect a breach on CCTV and initiate a swift response.

First Fence offers the ProFence® product range in both 868 and 358 mesh options, providing fencing kits and single and double leaf gates in various heights and widths.

The rigorous SR1 testing process has rightfully earned this product range a prestigious place in the Red Book.

Features and Benefits

This gate, equipped with two leaves, provides enhanced flexibility in access control. Crafted from high-quality steel, which is hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards. The gate is additionally shielded by a polyester powder coating available in a variety of RAL colours. This dual coating offers superior protection against wear, damage, rust, and corrosion.

The kit comprises a sliding gate leaf, a catch leaf, two hinge gate posts, two drop bolts, six adjustable gate eyes, and ribbed inserts for the gate frame and posts. The gate leaves feature an 868 mesh infill, a well-established security mesh configuration. The vertical wires measure 6mm in thickness, while the horizontals are 8mm, giving the mesh its designation.

This type of mesh is extremely robust and resistant to cutting, making it particularly suitable for situations where clear perimeter visibility is essential, or for integration with CCTV systems.

The gate kit incorporates six adjustable gate eyes; in the unlikely event of a hinge failure, the gate remains secure, preventing accidents, damage, or injuries. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is securely fastened with a snap-off nut, minimising the risk of post-installation removal.

Two Drop Bolts provide additional security for your double gate operation.

ProFence® Fencing is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.

Easy Installation

First Fence's SR1-rated gate kit is available in both a dig-in and bolt-down format, accommodating most ground conditions. It is crucial to assess the ground you intend to install this gate on. If it is grass or other soft terrain, the dig-in option is necessary, while concrete and other solid ground types will require bolt-down posts.

The bolt-down kit includes the necessary ground anchor bolts. If you opt for the dig-in kit, you will need to add Post Mix to your order. We recommend four bags per post. You should use a C20 or C25 post mix, ideally.

This gate is suitable for both pedestrian access and small vehicles such as forklifts. The sliding latch bolt keeps the leaves securely closed, and the drop bolts ensure the leaves are firmly held in place. One or both leaves can be opened as per your requirements.

A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available
