Understanding the SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing
The ProFence® series represents First Fence's premier line of security-rated products, meticulously subjected to testing and certification under the rigorous LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) standards. This accreditation signifies a one-minute delay against an attack utilising Toolkit A, including tools like glass cutters, pliers, spanners, and bolt cutters – tools that are often concealed and commonly employed by individuals attempting to break into private establishments. This crucial sixty-second delay can prove invaluable, giving on-site security teams the time needed to promptly detect and respond to a breach.
First Fence's ProFence® collection offers fence kits in both 358 Prison Mesh and 868 Twin Mesh, presenting various height options. Furthermore, we provide single and double gates expertly designed to harmonise with the ProFence® fencing system. The arduous SR1 testing process has rightfully earned this product range a coveted spot in the Red Book.
Features and Benefits
This particular gate is designed in a single leaf format, manufactured from high-quality steel, which has been hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards. Each gate has then been coated with a protective and durable polyester powder finish. These dual coatings provide significant protection against corrosion, rust and the rigours of daily use.
Single leaf gates are known for their space-efficient design, making them an excellent choice when space is limited. They are typically easier to open and close quickly, which can be crucial in situations requiring rapid access or exit. When installed and maintained correctly, this gate can offer many years of reliable service.
The security gate employs the distinctive 358 Mesh, often known as "Prison Mesh" due to its historical use in correctional facilities. Its closely spaced wires offer excellent visibility while deterring the passage of objects, making it challenging to scale or cut. This mesh is particularly suitable for scenarios where clear visibility is paramount, such as when integrated with CCTV systems.
The kit includes a sliding gate leaf, catch and hinge post, three gate eyes and Ribbed Inserts for the posts and gate frame. The presence of three adjustable gate eyes ensures that even in the unlikely event of a single hinge failure, the gate remains secure, preventing potential injuries or damage. Each adjustable gate eye is firmly fastened with a shear nut, ensuring post-installation removal is impossible.
The gate securely closes using the sliding latch bolt. The kit also incorporates a drop bolt for securing the gate in the open position, fortified with an M5x20mm one-way pan head bolt and M5 shear nut to deter tampering.
ProFence® Fencing is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.
Installation Made Easy
The SR1 rated security system by First Fence is available in both dig-in and bolt-down versions, accommodating various ground conditions. After assessing your installation site, you can make the appropriate choice, generally speaking, the bold down option is suited to hard ground substance and the dig in to softer ground. Please make your own ground assessment prior to ordering.
The bolt-down kit comes complete with essential ground anchor bolts, while the dig-in kit requires the addition of Post Mix, available for purchase, recommended at three bags per 2.0m post. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.
This gate seamlessly complements the 2.0m mesh fencing kits within the range, with other height and width options available to cater to your specific needs.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
