Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing
The ProFence® series has gone through a very rigorous testing process and earned an accreditation under the demanding LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) standards. This accreditation signifies a sixty-second delay against opportunist attacks using a selection of hand tools from Toolkit A. These tools, including glass cutters, spanners, screwdrivers and pliers, are compact and therefore easily concealed by potential trespassers seeking illegal access to valuable sites. These critical sixty seconds can provide the time needed for on-site security personnel to detect a perimeter breach on CCTV and initiate a rapid and decisive response.

Features and Benefits
Designed with two leaves, this gate gives you flexibility in access control. Engineered from top-quality hot-dipped galvanised steel which is compliant to ISO 14618 standards. The gate is further protected by a polyester powder coating, available in various RAL colours. This dual coating offers superior protection against wear and tear, damage, rust, and corrosion. It can be matched to an existing colour scheme or to match your company colours.
The kit includes two gate leaves, two hinge gate posts, two drop bolts, six adjustable gate eyes, and ribbed inserts for the gate frame and posts. The gate leaves feature an infill of 358 mesh, a recognisable and robust security mesh form, often referred to as Prison Mesh due to its common use in such applications.
This mesh type is exceptionally sturdy and resistant to cutting, making it ideal for situations where clear perimeter visibility is essential or for integration with CCTV systems. The close mesh pattern is also difficult to climb and will act as a deterrent.
The gate kit features six adjustable gate eyes; so even if a single hinge were to fail, the gate would remain secure, preventing accidents, damage, or injury. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is firmly fastened with a snap-off shear nut, reducing the likelihood of post-installation tampering.
The two drop bolts provide added security for your gate, ensuring it remains securely open or closed as needed.
Easy Installation
First Fence's SR1 rated gate kit is available in both dig-in and bolt-down formats, suitable for various ground conditions. It's essential to assess the ground where you plan to install it. Soft ground like grass or soil requires the dig-in option, while concrete and other hard surfaces demand bolt-down posts.
The bolt-down kit includes essential ground anchor bolts, while the dig-in kit requires you to add Post Mix to your order, with a recommended three bags per post. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.
This gate is suitable for pedestrian access, and larger gate widths are also available if you require vehicle access to your site. The sliding latch bolt keeps the leaves securely closed, and the drop bolts ensure their steadfast positioning. You have the flexibility to open one or both leaves as needed.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
ProFence® Fencing is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.
