Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing

PaliFence® security-rated fencing stands out as an economical and robust palisade fencing system certified under LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) standards. This certification guarantees a one-minute delay against opportunistic attacks employing Toolkit A tools. The testing uses a selection of tools commonly used by criminals, including cable cutters, levers, pliers, spanners, and knives. The objective is to assess the system's defiance to attempted invasions with these tools, providing a deterrent effect. The invaluable one-minute delay empowers on-site security teams to intercept intruders before breaching the perimeter.

Features and Benefits

Constructed from hot-dip galvanised steel to ISO 1461 standards, this system prioritises strength and longevity. The galvanisation process provides excellent protection against rust and corrosion, which is crucial for a product in permanent outdoor use as a security barrier. The system can be polyester powder coated in various RAL colours, enhancing protection and delivering a high-quality, polished finish that seamlessly blends with surroundings or existing schemes (powder coating to BS EN 13438 standards).

The PaliFence® SR1 (A1) security rated system comes in kit form and features 19 palisade pales, 3 cross rails and a steel IPE post. A standard palisade bay has 17 pales; the increase by 2 means that the centres (135mm pale centre to pale centre) are reduced, and an attacker would need to remove more of them to create a big enough space to fit through, something that will deter this type of person if this extent of effort is needed.

This palisade security fencing with an SR1 security rating incorporates three cross rails, positioned at the top, bottom and middle, to minimise bending in the event of an attack. Furthermore, the bottom rail is strategically placed at a height that ensures, if breached, the resulting space underneath remains too small for a person to fit through.

Galvanised and patch-treated fixings with anti-vibrate technology deter unauthorised nut or bolt removal during an attack.

Available in bolt-down or dig-in formats, the PaliFence® LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) Palisade Security Fencing Kit is compatible with most ground types. The bolt-down format includes SR1-tested ground anchor bolts, while the dig-in format requires a minimum concrete foundation of 750 x 300 x 300mm with C20/25 grade concrete. Post Mix, with 2 bags per post is recommended for a dig-in installation.

When properly installed, the fencing maintains a 50mm ground clearance and accommodates sloping ground with ease, being certified for gradients from 0 to 30°.
