The key to this lock's effectiveness lies in its dual-mechanism design.  Featuring a separate latch and deadbolt, it functions similarly to a standard door lock, providing enhanced security. The spring-loaded latch ensures the gate closes securely, while the key-operated deadbolt adds an extra layer of protection.  Deadlocking the gate requires a key to open it from both the inside and outside, acting as a significant deterrent to opportunistic thieves.  The added difficulty this presents can often be enough to make them reconsider targeting your property.  Furthermore, the lock fixings are inaccessible while the gate is locked, further bolstering its security credentials and preventing tampering.  

This lock set comes complete with everything you need for installation and immediate use: a strike plate, a double-sided eurocylinder, three keys, and two escutcheons.  The latch is reversible, offering flexibility in installation, and can be withdrawn using either the handles (available separately) or the key.  This convenient feature allows for easy access and operation from either side of the gate.  

Installation and maintenance are designed to be straightforward.  Simply slot the gate to accommodate the lock body and drill two holes for the eurocylinder.  Secure the lock and strike plate, insert the eurocylinder, and fasten it with the provided M5 countersunk screw.  Attach the two eurocylinder escutcheons, and you're ready to go.  Once installed, regular maintenance is minimal.  Simply check the lock's operation periodically and lubricate it with a light oil to ensure smooth, long-lasting performance.
