Product Description

Heavy Duty Weld-On Hinge

A gate hinge must work freely under heavy loads, in all circumstances, and for a very long period of time. A lot of strain is put on hinges; they need to have smooth movement each time the gate is opened or closed, and they potentially face harsh weather conditions due to being on an item that is in permanent outdoor use.

It can be difficult to know which type of hinge to choose, but if you want something heavy-duty and very durable, then these Heavy Duty Weld-On Hinges are an excellent choice.

This hinge is an extremely sturdy item that can carry large gate loads. Made from steel, it has two brass bearings to ensure smooth action and comes in a range of sizes from M16, M20, M24 and M30 and they can take from 150kg to 900kg in weight, when used in pairs. It has 2 adjustable nuts that are used to fine-tune the position of the gate.

These hinges are designed with a longer eyebolt, meaning there is significant length to adjust. Just a few millimetres off and the end of a long gate can skew, so having this kind of adjustability can be a game-changer.

The Heavy Duty Weld on Hinge is low-friction, making it ideal for use with automatic gates, and it features a built-in grease point to enable long-term maintenance.

The hinge design allows it to be installed in either 90° or 180° positions, and they have been manufacturer tested to 500,000 openings with practically no wear on the bearings. That equates to approximately 50 years at 25 openings a day! Ideal for the heavy-duty or longer gate. If you are looking for strength and long life, then this could be the hinge you need.

Installation

  • Disassemble the two self-coloured lugs from the hinge and weld them in the correct position to the gate post.
  • Drill a hole through the gate frame to suit the thread size.
  • Once the gate has been galvanised or painted, assemble the hinge and use the 2 nuts to adjust the position of the gate.

Maintenance

Lubricate during fitting and once every 6 months to ensure maximum product life; they have a built-in grease point for easy maintenance.
