Manual Raise Arm Barriers are used to manage entry in and out of public and private car parks and entrances and are immediately recognisable; you will have undoubtedly seen them in many settings when looking for somewhere to park. They are regarded as a simple and cost-effective way of deterring unauthorised vehicle access. When access needs to be restricted, they are a perfect solution, being adaptable to many situations and relatively simple to install.
A traditional manual barrier generally comes with a counterbalanced ‘fishtail’ for opening and closing, however these come with gas assisted dampers which make them very straightforward to use and allow reliable employment throughout the day and without significant effort from the user. The two gas struts give it a smooth, controlled operation and dependability and security, and they require no power source.
This barrier has been designed with the user in mind and is easier to set up than a traditional manual barrier; one engineer can safely install it on their own which will reduce your installation costs. It comes ready assembled to bolt down, you just need to make sure your foundations are level and in line then just fit and secure the pole, test, and leave the site.
The soft grip handles are very user-friendly and tactile and make it a pleasure to use. Operating the barrier is a one-handed manoeuvre thanks to the gas struts.
A bolt down lockable end rest is supplied with this barrier; however it can be replaced as an additional purchase with a collapsible pogo support that is height adjustable. This pogo support is also referred to as an adjustable swinging beam support which is connected to the end of the pole and bears the barrier when it is closed. The barrier is easily locked in the open and closed position with a padlock that is provided. The barrier is lockable via the main post in addition to the end rest.
The barrier is viewed as an easy installation and comes with all necessary anchor bolts (M16 anchor shield bolts and M12 for the end rest). It is recommended for hard surfaces.
The Heavy Duty Manual Barrier comes with polyester powder coating in red as standard (red and white pole), this gives a layer of protection from damage, wear and tear and corrosion. It is also available in yellow as a non-standard colour (with yellow and black pole) for an additional charge and lead time.
