Product Description

HDBOX/K-100 Solid Wall Heavy Duty Load Bearing Box Lintel - 215mm high

The HDBOX/K-100 215mm high solid wall heavy-duty load-bearing box lintel has been designed for use with either internal or external walls. They are suitable for heavy-duty loading conditions such as supporting concrete floors and point loads. There are multiple small holes along the length of the lintel, which act as a plaster key. This lintel is ideal for use on walls which are 100mm in width.

These solid wall box lintels have been made from high-quality 2.5mm thick pre-galvanised steel. The box lintels have been designed to bear the weight of wet masonry as soon as they are installed.

Available in 150mm increments starting at 1950mm in length up to 2700mm. This means that these lintels are suitable for bearing heavy loads over a wide variety of gap sizes for various applications, such as doors and windows.
Please note: These require a 150mm end bearing at each end of the lintel. For example, if the gap that requires the lintel is 2100mm long, then an additional 300mm will need to be added to the lintel’s total length.

In order for this lintel to support the specified loads below, the lintel will need to be installed correctly. Care should also be taken to avoid shock loading on box lintels when used with concrete floors or any other heavy units.

The figures also take into account the different loading types which are common in traditional cavity wall construction. These figures have been acquired through testing in accordance with the requirements of standards BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003
