When selecting items for play areas, various factors demand thoughtful consideration. The product's height should be chosen to deter climbing by children. Vertical railings should be closely spaced to prevent a child's head from potential entrapment while ensuring optimal visibility. Smooth surfaces are imperative to thwart cuts or scrapes, and the product should steer clear of sharp edges or protruding elements that could pose injury risks. A key aspect of the EnviroRail® Gates lies in their manufacturing process. Employing a low-weld approach, this environmentally conscious system certainly stands out against comparable products in the market. Laser-cut, tailor-made, pre-galvanised components establish robust connections during assembly, reducing the need for energy-intensive welding. The resulting pressed connections demonstrate a level of robustness equivalent to their welded counterparts.
Fashioned from quality pre-galvanised steel conforming to BS 10346 standards, further enhanced with polyester powder coating in standard or non-standard RAL colours, this product is built to endure permanent outdoor installation, enduring varying weather conditions.
Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.
What sets EnviroRail® Gates apart is their versatility and straightforward installation. The modular, lightweight design and adaptable handedness offer exceptional flexibility on-site, eliminating constraints associated with fixed left or right-hand leaf orientations and easily facilitating the integration of a range of gate hardware. The modular functionality allows for adjustments in case the gates move, providing adaptability that fixed hardware cannot match.
The single leaf gate kit comprises a hinge and catch post, a Play Sec Railing leaf, and three adjustable gate eyes. With three hinges adhering to BS 12604 standards, safety is maintained, even in the rare event of a hinge failure. The gate hooks are fully welded to the gate post for added security, these are fixed axis hinges with no up or down movement
Pre-drilled holes simplify the attachment of gate eyes and a drop bolt, accompanied by plastic plugs to discreetly cover any unused holes on the gate attack face. The gate is engineered to seamlessly integrate with our security locks, offering an adjustment of up to 30mm from the catch post for a straightforward installation process. When properly installed, the gate ensures a 50mm ground clearance and opens at a 90° angle as a single leaf gate.
Standing at 2.4m high this is the tallest gate available in this range. The gate is also available in a double leaf format should you need more flexibility in access control. The UniSlide Slider Single Gate Kit comes included with all EnviroRail single gates, ensuring a secure and smooth sliding mechanism for reliable operation.
Safety Compliance
Rails set at 100mm centres prevent entrapment, and top bows at 90mm prevent wrist or neck traps. The design and manufacture of the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate adhere to BS EN 1176 regulations.
Available in various heights and widths, these gates are offered in dig-in or bolt-down versions, suitable for most kinds of ground substance. For the dig-in variant, Post Mix must be added to the order, and the bolt-down version requires four M16 x 125mm ground anchor bolts per post.
