Introducing the EnviroRail® Flat Top Gate range from First Fence, a perfect companion to the EnviroRail® Flat Top Railings.
Commonly known as flat handrails or flat bar railings, this contemporary system is versatile, suitable for various environments such as parks, gardens and new constructions. Recognised for its clean lines, this railing style not only introduces a modern aesthetic but also serves as a robust barrier, ensuring security in public spaces while preserving an inviting atmosphere.
Within this railing collection, First Fence offers comprehensive kits featuring both gates and railing panels. The gate kits, available in single and double leaf designs, offer a range of polyester powder-coated colours enabling you to easily match an existing colour scheme.

The EnviroRail® Flat Top Railing resembles a standard bay but stands out from the crowd due to its environmentally conscious construction method. This innovative approach utilises custom-made, laser-cut pre-galvanised components, creating strong connections without relying on energy-intensive welding processes. This eco-friendly choice appeals to customers focused on minimising environmental impact during production.
Skillfully crafted by First Fence's in-house fabrication team from quality pre-galvanised steel meeting BS 10346 standards and coated with polyester powder, our gates ensure durability to withstand challenging outdoor conditions.
Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.
EnviroRail® Gates embody a fully modular, exceptionally lightweight system designed for various hardware with swift and straightforward installation. Universally handed, they allow any leaf to serve as the primary one, eliminating the requirement for fixed left or right-hand specifications. This provides exceptional on-site flexibility and simplifies decision-making during fitting. The modular functionality enhances adjustability, accommodating gate movement, a feature absent in traditional fixed gate hardware.
Each gate comes with pre-drilled frame holes for easy installation of three adjustable gate eyes and a drop bolt, if chosen, along with plastic hole plugs for unused holes to enhance appearance.
The kit includes two EnviroRail® gate leaves, two hinge posts six adjustable gate eyes, complying with BS 12604 safety guidelines. With three hinges per leaf, the gate remains secure even if one should fail, preventing potential injury or damage. The gate hooks are fully welded to the gate post for added security, providing fixed-axis hinges, eliminating vertical movement.
Available in various heights and widths, this gate kit offers both dig-in and bolt-down versions suitable for installation in different locations. The dig-in option suits softer ground, requiring Post Mix for stability, while the bolt-down option suits harder ground and is secured using four M16 x 125mm anchor bolts per post. Assessing your ground substance before purchase is advisable to ensure the correct post format.
When installed correctly, the gate allows up to 30mm of adjustment from the catch post, with a 50mm ground clearance.
To enhance your gate, consider adding a Slider Kit for secure closure. The gate's modularity makes it compatible with all of our digital lock solutions, and additional security features like an anti-climb Locking Plate and heavy-duty padlock are available. A locking drop bolt is available as an add-on purchase and is highly recommended for the double leaf format.
