Bow Top railings and gates have a very enduring, traditional and elegant style with an easily recognised curvature at the top of the structure. The design is not new, and actually has its roots dating back to the 19th century where they were primarily used to enclose gardens, parks and residential areas, providing an obvious barrier without appearing overly grand. They were initially made using wrought iron however other materials such as steel or aluminium are now commonly used for their durability and low maintenance.
First Fence has an extensive range of railings products, including Bow Top, and has now added to the portfolio the EnviroRail® range which includes railing bays and gates. The gates are available with a choice of width and height and as a dig in or bolt down format, so they are ideal for most locations. It is essential to secure an assessment of the ground before purchasing to ensure you have the right product, if you need any guidance on this, please contact the sales team on 01283 512111.
The EnviroRail® Bow Top Double Leaf Gate Kit, measuring 0.9m in height and 6.0m in width, offers versatile access control options, allowing you to choose between one or both leaves in open or closed positions. This is one of the wider gates in the range and will allow both foot and vehicle traffic through.
Although this gate kit resembles a typical bow top product, it distinguishes itself through its eco-conscious manufacturing process. This innovative method minimises welding by employing custom-made, laser-cut pre-galvanised components that interlock securely when pressed together, significantly reducing the reliance on energy and resource-intensive welding practices. For those concerned about reducing environmental impact in gate production, this could be an ideal choice.
Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.
The EnviroRail® Double Gates present a fully modular and relatively lightweight solution, facilitating swift installation for various hardware requirements. With universal handing, they provide flexibility on-site, eliminating fixed left or right-hand specifications.
Each gate arrives pre-drilled, simplifying the attachment of six adjustable hinges and a drop bolt. Plastic hole plugs are included to cover any unused holes on the visible side. A locking drop bolt option is available for purchase and is recommended for a double leaf gate.
The kit includes two EnviroRail® gate leaves, two gate posts, and six adjustable gate eyes (three for each leaf), meeting BS 12604 safety standards to ensure stability even if one hinge fails. Furthermore, the gate hooks are fully welded to the gate post. The gates have 50mm ground clearance.
Offered in various heights and widths, our gate kits are available in dig-in and bolt-down versions, suitable for installation in diverse locations. The dig-in variant suits softer terrain like grass and soil, requiring Post Mix for secure installation, while the bolt-down option is ideal for harder ground surfaces such as concrete, secured using eight M16 x 125mm anchor bolts, which can be included in your order.
Apart from this gate kit, First Fence also offers EnviroRail® Railings, Estate Railings, and Gates. Consider boosting security with a heavy-duty padlock as an additional precaution.
